Gunpowder Punk is challenging Roguelike Top-Down-Twin Stick Shooter taking its cues from Hotline Miami. Gameplay: https://youtu.be/7zUVGdwbCZY The replayability based on level generation, different weapons and unlockable skills. It is not an easy game! You will die a lot! You have to think fast to kill all of the enemies (there are multiple ways to do so). The relentless action always keeps you on your toes. If you like games like Hotline Miami, you will enjoy Gunpowder Punk. [u]You can read other reviews and subscribe to our curators. Fun top-down shooter, its fundamentally a good combination to mash hotline miami gameplay with roguelike elements and cyberpunk mechanics. It's a bit rough around the edges, in terms of a few missing quality of life features, but the dev is making tweaks that already have vastly improved it and plans on adding further content. Looking forward to checking back on this later to see where it goes, if it gets more maps/modes as planned this could really shape up to be quite good.

This is a first-impressions review. Difficulty: Hard, at least for a casual gamer like me. If you like challenge this game is for you. (I recommend paying attention to the tips that appear in the menu screen or you might have some extra challenge on the first couple of runs). Gameplay: + Movement and aiming feels good. + There are some noticeable differences between the weapons + I love the fact that enemies have friendly fire. This created some fun moments. +/- The melee attack feels a bit underwhelming. Personally I would like for it to kill most of the normal size enemies and the area it hits could be just a bit larger. - It feels like sometimes the game can spawn the enemies a bit too fast making the level difficulty vary a lot. Audio: + Music is fits the game. + Different gun sounds are decent. - Enemy footsteps don't have sounds from what I can hear. Graphics: +/- Clean looking retro-ish pixel graphics. Nothing too fancy but doesn't bother the eye. + Different enemy types are easy to tell apart from each other. What I would like to see added: //edit: this has been added in a recent patch. Damn difficult but fun, addictive and fast paced. Needs some QOL features (please implement auto-reload at end of magazine, I am begging you, and maybe make the enemy models contrast from dark environments a little more), definitely worth keeping an eye on or even just grabbing for its very reasonable price. Read the tips, they're helpful.
Tough, but addictive, the kind of game that has you saying "one more time" for longer than you'd expect
difficulty is really high but other than that its alright.
