My favorite Psikyo shmup. Excellent graphics and gameplay.
It's a great presentation of the arcade classic - and the only missing for me, is a potential Dreamcast version where we have Morrigan as a selectable character - and the single player 2P story mode option aswell. Otherwise it's Gunbird 2 and it's awesome

I had fun playing it.
Between the original Gunbird and Gunbird 2, I like the sequel a little more. They're basically the same game mechanically with the exception that Gunbird 2 expands the charge mechanic a little more. Very few of the characters of the original return here. Which is a shame, as I liked the previous cast more than the new characters here. Each character has their own regular shot, charge shot, charge melee attack and bomb. Which might seem like a lot, but I find the melee attack overly risky for the reward. Especially since it drains the charge meter a tad. I found it better to fill up the meter and save it for the bosses. Since just charging the attack can be dangerous since you momentarily stop shooting. Which allows waves of enemies to fill the screen with bullets. And that may take a bomb to clear them out and keep the game going... At least if you aren't particularly good at shoot 'em ups. This is one of City Connection's better ports of a Psikyo game. I wouldn't say it's a good port, though. For best results, the player has to fiddle with the Configuration Tool before booting up the game. As it defaults to window mode instead of full screen. If you play on a non-standard (read: XBox) controller, you'll also want to map the buttons are. However, re-mapping isn't done yet. Once in the game, you set the actions to the buttons you wish to use. Of course, you can skip the configuration tool step, but then it's a bit of trial and error to figure out what the game thinks the button are. Which is a hassle for someone like me that enjoys playing shooters on an 8-button USB Genesis Controller. But at least the game allows for it, so I won't grip too much. I think Gunbird 2 is my favorite non-military aircraft (aka Strikers 1945) shooter. It's a long ways from my favorite has overall the Psikyo touch (charge attacks, random initial stages, power ups preferring the upper portion of the play area, starting at the beginning of the later stages with a continue, et al) are all mechanics I just don't care for. However, I did enjoy playing this game.
Played a ton on Dreamcast, port is seemingly perfect. Fun shmup with varied characters and weapons, try it on sale
Work of art. I think it's one of the best shmups you can get!
City Connection, please add "Remote Play Together" to your shared/split screen games!
게 조 트 같은 게임입니다. 1-6이나 1-7 진행하면 컨트롤이 갑자기 안먹습니다. 위 아래만 움직입니다. 절대 이거 사지 마세요. 사기입니다.
Loved it. the story was fun and you can pick different endings! this is also 1 of the few shoot'em ups I've seen with some melee attacks, which is nice and can make combat interesting!
