he can guide me to his bedroom too tbh
十几分钟就可以看完的小品,向导立绘很美丽,还有配音,但故事有些平淡,可能是游戏体量的原因,如果有加长版本的我会去试试

There is a special place in my heart for short mysterious VNs that succeed in making you feel vaguely uncomfortable. Guidelicious is exactly that, as well as my initial introduction to the larger universe this game is part of (see Pitstop in Purgatory). It was created for the "1 of each asset (O2A2)" game jam and really made the most of these limitations, succeeding in telling a simple short story while also having a lot of fun with the medium. Credit where credit is due: the VA is very good. At first I felt like something was off with his intonations, but then I realized it *has* to be this way. The character's vibes are extremely off, after all... A solid (free!) 15 min-long experience, definitely recommended.
I'm gonna break my review down in two different sections. (Section 1. Game and Section 2. Game Jam) Section 1.) The story felt rushed and ending felt abrupt and I felt as though the ending we got could have been different, or the dialogue options given could've been more focused on the issue at hand more-over than The Guide calling us a specific name. For it being a short, free, visual-novel type game I was NOT expecting it to be fully voiced?? It was a really pleasant surprise considering most free games don't do voice acting, let alone getting Jesse ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Pinnick!! *That part* caught me completely off guard especially. (Big fan of BlueLock, but thats besides the point) The artstyle that The Guide is drawn in, is creamy yet rough in-style at the same time I love it, though I think the blue hue that pops up when The Guide looks upset could've been worked on a little more. The Dialogue/Text/Menu boxes blend really well with the environmental colors, but that being said the room itself also could have been worked on a *little* more. Overall I give it a 7.5 outta 10 Sections 2.) GameJam games are always given a short timeframe to work on games, with specific limitations to meet that specific GameJam rules, and for this being a GameJam game.... it's not bad, its a solid GameJam game, especially for the careful detailing of The Guide, the text boxes, the voice acting, and the hidden achievements, BUT AGAIN, the room could've been a tiny bit better, especially because its the only room in the game, and you interact with it 50% of the time, as well as focusing more at the issue at hand (What's going on > That's not my name) but I'm aware GameJam games have such strict limitations (one of which being the 1k word limit for this one specifically, which is brutal) and you cant really get into the meat of the issue if you have a word limit. That being said, overall I give it an 8.5 outta 10. With your hands tied you still did a great job, I can't wait to play more from the franchise!
