On va pas se mentir, le jeu à l'air intéressant, mais ce n'est qu'un air.
I believe Guardians of Graxia is an overlooked game and misunderstood by those who played it due to its uniqueness and complexity. It's one of those games that you need to spend some time with in order to comprehend its mechanics, as it combines turn based strategy with cards. For me it also kinda feels a little bit like chess because the levels consist of tiles where the units can move and battle. It's not just about summoning hordes of units and sending them to the enemy to win, but placing your units on the right tiles and being smart with the movements, battles and timing. Placing and moving your units on the right tiles can make a big difference, not just because of how you approach the objective but also because the tiles can give bonuses or penalties depending on the type of tile/ unit. The player is given mana points that are used to either summon units or cast spells. Spending those unwisely will end up in failure, so you gotta think a little bit before spending. Some levels can take a while to complete, but winning a mission feels rewarding. I like the map design, having a floating landscape as the environment is definitely unique and fits with the game's fantasy theme. The cards and characters designs are great, some of the 3D models kinda remind me of Warcraft units. Great soundtrack too. The story doesn't really have a lot of details, but is simple to understand. What basically happens is that a nearby town is attacked by a dragon and you help its residents, hoping that they will join you. After that, you realize that while you were away of your own town there was a misunderstanding with a group of orcs, so a war starts against orcs too. Then there is a level where you fight undead units and the last level consits of a mixture of both. I like that there are two ways to achieve victory. One usually consists of capturing one or multiple titles till a specific round, and the other is doing that and also eliminating an enemy guardian. Doing the basic objective is usually enough to progress further, but for those who want a challenge or want to 100% the game they gotta do both. The only negative thing is that there is no way to speed up the gameplay, the animations are kinda slow and beating the last 2 maps can take a couple of hours. But on the other hand, I think that having a slower pace can help understand the game better. Watching how enemy units behave is crucial in a game like this. I feel lucky for having this game in my library before they delisted it :) but would also like to see a new game.
When I last played this in November of 2016, it was an interesting title with potential for becoming something decent. But it never went beyond that and received next to 0 support and then completly abandoned. Another game I regret purchasing with the hopes of it becoming something greater.
Incredibly difficult and rather frustrating. Also not very enjoyable. Gave it a second chance, won't give it a third
DON"T BUY IT! 5 years later and still have the same problems! I couldn't even pass the load screen. Getting a refund because i'll not try any other manual fix.
Card game + Turn-based + Board game = utter crap
