TL;DR: A fun extraction shooter that does not feel Pre-Alpha. It needs a few tweaks, and if development continues at the current pace it has a real shot at being a strong Game of the Year contender once it fully releases. For a game still in Pre-Alpha, this already feels and plays better than some finished AAA titles. It takes the inventory management of Tarkov, mixes it with the playstyle of ARMA 3, and refines both into something genuinely enjoyable that keeps pulling you back. There are a few issues I expect will be addressed over time. None of them are game-breaking: Ballistics vs armour – Some rounds that the info screen says should defeat NIJ IIIA still take 5–6 hits to put down AI wearing only NIJ II. AI accuracy – The AI can be unnervingly precise, even while they’re recoiling from your shots. Main takeaway: aim for the head. Vendor ranking – Progression feels a bit uneven. Some vendors go long stretches without offering tasks, and selling loot only gives tiny reputation gains, so the grind for better gear can feel slow at times. Helicopter wait times – Occasionally it takes quite a while for a chopper to become available for your chosen LZ. Despite those points, logging on after a long day, heading out onto the map, and just exploring is consistently fun and rewarding. I’ll keep coming back. I’m looking forward to meeting new people, teaming up, helping others, and watching the game grow into something that actually delivers on the promise that other entries in this genre either struggled with or only managed for a while before fading. Even though I listed a few issues, this is still a positive review. If anyone asks me, my answer is simple: Buy it. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. I already picked up a copy for a friend who had it wish-listed, and I’ll be getting the supporter edition myself eventually.

Early on, the game is a frustrating as can be. I kept wanting to rush in guns blazing, which is not a recipe for success - at least not solo. Nearly 72 hours later and I couldn’t quit it if I wanted to, and I really absolutely don’t want to. I’d love it if 308 did a bit more damage but 556 will do.
highly recommended to tactical players, GZW with no doubt reassembles the OODA loop of combat the best among vast majority of all tactical shooting games. out of EFT Wardog and GZW, GZW is the only one that requires the player to be able to apply the OODA loop precisely in order to ensure a safe and survivable battle plan to work out. GOOD JOB MadFinger, keep it on
I love this game, it was a real change in gaming when it first came out. I would love to keep playing if there wasn't Ai. Multiplayer is my preference, tired of Ai.
One word describes this game perfectly, shallow. The map is extremely large with nothing but shallow scattered, repetitive contain. It feels similar to looking at a bad Ubisoft game, where the map is massive with nothing but random objective markers sprinkled throughout, giving off first impressions that there is plenty of fun, diverse, interesting objectives to complete. However all of the objectives quickly become repetitive and monotonous after the first couple hours of gameplay. I had to play one of the first missions "Helping Hands" four times due to the attic key not spawning in. I essentially became soft locked out of the main quest line due to the "Helping Hands" mission not working. I had to replay target side missions multiple times due to the target not spawning inside the radius. All doors keys randomly spawn on dead enemies, which means you will often be running around the map trying to hunt down door keys instead of engaging in firefights. One of the only positive things I can say about Gray Zone Warfare is that the moment to moment gunplay is great, however if you are just looking for a game with great gunplay, go play something else. There are plenty of other games with great realistic gunplay such as Arma, Ready or Not, 6 Days in Falluja or Bodycam. I would even recommend 2017's Ghost Recon Wildlands over Gray Zone Warfare. 5/10.
Very good, if not the best currently, Strictly pve extraction(ish) shooter. The world is persistent, so no loading screens and the only pause you get is when you're in a FOB or main base. There are FOBs always within a few hundred meters from you at all times. The health system is good, its not overly realistic but still enough to simulate an injury too the simplest degree. Pros-Cons Time. Pros- 1. Gameplay feels crisp (gun handling ,menus, navigating the map) 2. Weapon smithing (everything from your barrel too your grips can be modified) 3. Visuals are very good, atmosphere like rain and thunder too bright sunny days and full moon nights. 4. Personalization, although simple at the very moment the game very much allows customization from character too gun too character cosmetics. 5. Looting feels balanced. 6. Dev team listens too the community. Cons- 1. If i get hungry or thirsty i make really annoying noises. 2. If i have ANY injury that causes me too bleed I make Dead By Daylight amounts of noise. 3. Redploying because i am stuck fails my current contracts and way points too my body unless i purchase a weapon tag too GPS locate my body, too be fair they aren't very expensive. 4. I can't actually think of anymore, i actually sat here and thought about it for like 20 minutes, nope nothing. There are no annoying mechanics, no stupid game breaking bugs, nothing that really pisses me off. Basically, if you want fun without the sweats of PvP FPS titles now a days then this is a good one too go for, the price is good for it, hours and hours of fun and engaging gameplay that is a step above most of the other big titles.
