If my playtime is any indicator, I love this game. GZW sets the mark that all other extraction shooters should strive to meet. It takes the best parts of extraction shooters, leaves out all the crap nobody likes like timed matches where you suddenly die after 45 minutes in game. For a genre that strives for realism it always seemed like a major immersion killer and this game fixes that and creatively if I might add. They continue to perfect an already amazing game, the Devs listen to the players and react accordingly. This game is obviously from a team that has a real passion about this genre, and definitely about the world they're building here in GZW. The continued improvements are always well above par. I for one can not wait until this game hits 1.0, however part of me wishes it never would so I can keep being mind blown every time a major version update drops! Well done MADFINGER! And if you ever have an opening for a Game Programmer HMU!!! I'd love to work alongside you all! :)
Honestly some of the most fun I've had in a while, people are nice especially when they know you're new. In my personal opinion, the most fun non-vr "extraction shooter" I've ever played.
Other than the massive cheater problem right now, its incredible. Definitely one of the best extraction shooters out there, and its just beginning. Can't wait to see what .5 and further offers!
I'm pretty new to the extraction shooter genre. I've always been hesitant because it seems like it would get stale really fast. While there were times in the 100 hours of my playing Gray Zone I felt like it was getting repetitive, but being able to make your own goals in an open world environment really does help with the monotony. However, I've tried other extraction shooters since starting Gray Zone and this one is the only one so far I can keep jumping back into. There is nothing like jumping on a chopper and getting dropped off in the middle of nowhere to take down some target, with no load screens. I much rather prefer the dynamic exploration over the lobby experience other shooters have. Some gripes: It feels like there is a delay or lag when performing an action. If I want to crouch or stand back up, I have to press the button multiple times before my character will respond. The character is incredibly slow during animations. When aiming and get to close to a wall, the rifle/pistol disappears and takes forever to re-appear and aim. It would be nice to have a little urgency in this case. Overall, it's my favorite shooter I've played in 2026, and can't wait to see how it progresses going into Alpha.
Also kurz gesagt eine gelungene Umsetzung Richtung Realismus.
i spent 60 bucks on a whim hoping this would be what I am looking for. I was right.. After playing several hours of tarkov, arena breakout infinite, and delta force and flip flopping i just kept getting closer and closer to knowing what i wanted, while at the same time, not finding it. I did a deep dive into realistic, extraction shooters and the same 4 kept coming up and it was those three and grayzone warfare. I will also note that tarkov is the best and only game of its kind if you want it dialed to 11 and brutal difficulty. I love tarkov but sometimes its a tad much for me and that's a preference of my own, but i want to stress the game is truly incredible if you're up to the challenge... I was not.. I couldn't understand delta forces large player base for a generic arcade free shooter compared to arena breakout but I guess that comes down the gamer. Arena was fun however it just felt shallow, delta force felt cheap and too easy after wiping 5 3-man squads with barely taking damage? I'm not a great player either to remind you. I was left with grayzone. After watching a lot of streams and videos, the idea of the open living world, with factions of players, world quests, pvp pve and pve only options with transferrable progress made me so excited. I purchased it to see and I was blown away. I have a high-end pc but performance is great to me getting 80fps and up at max 4k ultra, or if I want to be competitive, i can get well over 120 with tweaking a few minor things, I just prefer the visual, and the visuals are unrivaled. It is just so realistic its crazy. The weather effects and global illumination and day night cycles crazy worth it. The experience is so immersive, in addition to the incredible sounds. Some sounds do repeat and can sound further than they are but overall, very well done. The shooting is great, has all the realistic goodies of inspecting the mags and firearms, loading ammo, and eating, drinking and healing if you even get hit once. Environmental and climate effects on your character are cool too. The best part is the open world, way control points, bases, and helicopter extracts work is unique and amazing. I love running into people and seeing those from the faction around, prox chat all that is so fun. I recommend the game if you want a beautiful open world extraction tarkov but slightly more approachable game. The game is in alpha, a lots coming. It has tarkov style vendors and they work, but would be nice to have upgradable/crafting, as well as a player auction house. The player base is smaller due to the 60 dollar barrier to entry, but i have no issues seeing and playing with others. When patches come out the population explodes and you can check that people keep coming back. The more this game updates, the more people show interest. The game is just pure fun and has a lot coming but give it a shot, if you hate it get that refund :)
Ts is sick as bru
much better than expected. I'm enjoying the PVE part of the game and having a ton of fun with it, much better than Tarkov. Have not come across any glitches so far.
