TLDR: This game is a slot machine disguised as an RPG game. The only difference is you won't win any money. Probably not worth your time but you do you. The game you knew back in 2000s does not exist. In this re-branded, grindy game with tons of micro transactions, your skills don't matter much, but stats from gacha, gambles and luck matter way more. Developers focus on how to make the game even more grindy through different updates. Catch-up events are nothing but a few pity drops every few months. I am a hardcore grinder/completionist in previous games (MMORPG, RPG, MOBA). But this game beat me. No other game beats the grinding/re-rolling in this game. I myself will be completing the game in my own sense and then stop as I get no thrill from playing this game. I’m almost done. Your end game performance is largely based on money spent and luck, and grind alone will not go too far. Gameplay: 1/5 Grindy with micro transactions. Many essential items (pets that give mana upon use, coordi that give better stats, pet runes for better pet functions) are cash only. You can't farm it. Period. Some useless pets and entry level stat coordi you can farm them with grinds and in-game currencies. There are about 8-10 in game currencies currently and more to be coming. You can buy 1 coordi outfit set for 200-300 USD per character on average but pulling out coordi pieces is random, so the final price will vary. Stats are important because all late game dungeons have time limits. You can be alive and do damage, but if time runs out, you lose. Time limit is not generous. You either have enough stats to beat the dungeon, or you don’t. Mid/late end game gears require 200-300 grinds from the same 2/3 dungeons per item per character, and item stat types require re-rolling with rare scrolls from 10-15 different other stat categories, and stats themselves need to be increased on a random chance with rare scrolls (different from gear levels). Re-rolling on a random chance also exists for rune stats, character awakening stage, and cards. Some stats/cards have much lower rates of landing. Scrolls are hard to come by. But you can always buy some more with real cash because developers don’t really see issues with it. Maxing out gear levels, for some reason, leads to the system announcing the player’s nickname in the whole server for everyone to see for monetization purposes from other players – it’s like someone won a jackpot in a casino. Dungeon loot boxes and even event box rewards are based on random chances, not how much effort is put in. All late game bosses run/teleport away from you all game or have invincibility frames to slow you down. The first few times was interesting to watch. The next 297 times per character, it was annoying and wasted my time. Guild system: 0/5 Pointless. No one talks in guilds. No point/benefit in interacting with other guilds or playing with guild members. Guild members don’t even do dungeons together because there is no benefit in raiding together, everyone’s progression is vastly different, and it’s easier to find random people in random lobbies. Accumulating guild points from completing dungeons is supposed to help with gear reinforcement rates. The word supposed to. But I think the formula is not additive (ex: 5+5+5=15) but rather multiply on some miniscule number (0.002X15X0.002). But I will never know the exact formula because I asked KOG and they won’t share it. One time I had 57% total reinforcement rate during an event - Some from guild, some from events and some from an item that boosted reinforcement rate. I used 120 scrolls and got 0 success. Sometimes I use 30-50 and get 1 success. I emailed the dev (GM Nayr) and was told my feedback was received and would reflect in the future. That was 7 months ago. To this day, reinforcing gear has horrible rates. What if I reported a game breaking bug that benefited players? Would their response have been prompt? Game culture: 1/5 Many multi-national beggars for progression. Many languages used in 1 server because you can’t beat late game dungeons without other people, and people just stick to 1 server. Many people just kick you from lobbies for sports because you used spells in their turn (in TOJ) or you lack stats in a game where skills don’t matter but stats do in beating the dungeon. Communicating is difficult because devs censor different words in 1 language but in another language it is harmless. The issue was reported and they sent a survey to everyone to ask what words to uncensor, but nothing was fixed after. You can add friends, but everyone is playing their own progression in their own pace, so they will not be playing together much. Some lobbies put a password and blatantly write the lobby password in the title in specific languages (or broadcast it publicly for 1 min), asking the same race group to join the lobby. Developer support: 1/5 Their game developers actually respond to your email via in-game support. Not AI but human so far. Replies are fast. Not much will be fixed from reports. Think of it as nothing more than a human chatbot. If you report a bug, they will tell you to go pound sand by saying we appreciate your feedback. Go record a video and send it. Max upload size is 30mb, in 2026. There is no reward for reporting a bug. Many bugs remain in game for a really long time because devs don’t really play the game. Spending cash: 1/5 On Steam, your money will first be converted to USD and then converted again to one of in-game currencies called VP, on an arbitrary exchange rate. Once you buy an item, you have to agree a pop up box saying the items will not be refundable. Every time.
just dont play this game, trash game with so much rng
Its almost as good as the OG Grand Chase, Microtransactions is not really an issue anymore because events could make you catch up. I really do not have an issue with this game. I just hope that Classic doesn't end like the way its predecessor did.
