This is the game I've always searched for. It has a lot of progression systems similar to Monster hunter games, but also a unique and super fun combat system that includes unique movesets, combos and skills for each character, perfectly timed dodge and parry, a lot of fun boss fights and epic soundtracks. The entire game can be completed solo as you build a team of 4 characters, with 3 of them controlled by the game if you are not playing in an online lobby. There are over 20 playable characters after the dlc so you will definitely find someone that you want to main. The DLC update added many quality of life improvements and a new solo roguelike gamemode to make progression less grindy. The game also feels well optimized, running at smooth 120fps on ultra 1440p with no frame drops in most areas. (I have also not encountered a single bug or crash this entire time, which is pretty rare these days lol) What most impressed me was the quality and attention to detail of the art in this game, the 2D portraits of your party changes based on your selected 3D color palette as well as the weapon the character is holding. SoiIf you want an amazing game with anime aesthetics and are tired of the countless gacha games, just play granblue. The only DLC content that is *nessesary* to purchase is the endless ragnarok expansion, all other ones are either cosmetics or to speedup your progression a bit, the amount of resources it gives you is a drop in the ocean once you reach endgame. All characters can be unlocked through gameplay.
