I wish I could love this game, but it simply does not respect your time. I know that this game is based of Gacha Mobile Game but its ridiculous that $60+ Triple A game has this much GRINDING. This isn't like Monster Hunter where players can decide to farm fights to squeeze out 10 to 15% more damage in their builds. If you don't spend tens to hundreds of hours slogging through the same repetitive fights over and over you are missing on staggering levels of damage to even beat the harder stages of the game. Let's say you want to switch to a new character that's not already on your team and you're getting closer to the end game. Well have fun spending the next many hours farming the resources to unlock and uncap their equipment, farming level up materials, and then doing same quest 40+ times just to have enough mastery points to bring them up to the level of your previous character. Oh and don't forget wasting another couple of hours trying to pull specific sigils that can't be farmed in battle and instead need to be gotten through the Transmarvel System. I genuinely doubt that there is a single person who has played past the main story that hasn't either AFK farmed, save scummed, or used mods to speed up the ridiculous RNG grind. The game its at it best when it's being a genuine spectacle. The music, animations, characters, combat, and overall presentation of the game are top class. The unique boss fights are some of my favorite in any game I've played. Can't think of another game in terms of sheer spectacle in combat besides maybe Final Fantasy 16. But after fighting the same boss 100 times, it makes the faults in the game all that more apparent. You start to notice that most bosses are just lazy reskins of other bosses you fought back 100 hours ago with maybe one or 2 new moves. Unless you funnel yourself into a certain playstyle/characters/build it genuinely hell to play single player with AI companions and beat the true endgame bosses. If you're new to the game I strongly recommend always playing missions online once you finish the main story as it saves you countless hours of simultaneously building up 4 characters while you still don't have the means to an easier supply of resources. Overall, I'd say this game is only worth it if you either plan to just play it for the story(which in that case wait for a sale since the story is incredibly short) or you genuinely like super grindy games in which case this will probably be a great experience.
