Great remake! Captures the soul of the original perfectly, feels very modern but not kitch like many modern games do, really awesome. Can't wait for the next game, it has to happen!
The game is incredible, however I can't recommend it due to HUGE amount of crashes I have on my hi-end PC, and the more you play the more you have, I had a crash every 5 minutes, sometimes with crash reporter, sometimes without, around 6 windows blue screens during my playtime also. Crashes can happen mostly any time, the best I have while starting the game it crashed on loading save. Only been able to reduce them by setting graphics to lowest, it helped a lot, however crashes still happen while loading saves. Sad There are also some bugs, but you can manage The bugs: - you can feed Gravo ore to help with Gomez any time, you don't even need to know him(Gomez) at all; - sound balance is weird, especially for phrases gg tells outside of dialogs, I don't hear them at all; - quest to kill wasps on the swamp is strange as it says you need to kill them nearby in X steps, but you should clear like mostly whole swamp without any indication; - I used castle teleport to deal with Gomez and only Bartolo decided to attack me for some reason, even his guards were doing nothing; - during the last fight Xardas was stuck doing nothing and I needed to reload prev save; - was stuck forever during dialog with Raven while spying for him in the swamp; - Fletcher welcomes you to the guards after you already was exiled and he stays near the entrance to the castle; - there is Ur-shak dialog that you came to the temple via hidden passage, however I went via main entrence; - some phrases are not localized and stay in English (ex. ghosts phrases).
The game is great—it’s just good old Gothic... Unfortunately, though, I can’t give it a positive review when there’s a game-breaking bug and no one is addressing it. I tried to figure it out here on the forum, but aside from a few tips from other players—which, unfortunately, didn’t work—I didn’t get any help... I just got stuck in the third chapter, and I can’t finish the game.
The main character is slow and moves in a clunky, jerky way. This is yet another game where the developers don't know how to design maps. The so-called “open world” consists of corridors that lead point A to point B.
