I grew up playing the original Gothic, and honestly, it was one of my favorite games as a kid. It’s one of those games that stayed with me for years. I’ve replayed it more times than I can count, and over the years I also played it with different mods, so I know the original pretty damn well. Going into the remake I was both excited and a little worried, because Gothic is one of those games where the atmosphere, characters and world are a huge part of what makes it special. Thankfully, the remake really feels like it understands what made the original so good. Seeing the Colony again, hearing familiar names, meeting the characters and just walking around the world brought back a lot of nostalgia. At the same time, it doesn’t feel like I'm simply playing the exact same game from 2001 with better graphics. There’s enough new stuff here to make it feel like its own experience while still respecting the original. Is it perfect? No. There are definitely things that could be improved, but for me the important part is that it feels like Gothic. And that's something I was really hoping for. If you played the original back in the day, I think you’ll get a lot out of this. And if you never played Gothic before, this is a great way to discover why so many people still talk about that game decades later. For me, this is more than just another remake. It's a game from my childhood getting a second life. Now give me Gothic 2 Remake. I’m ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ready. 😂

Lots of bugs... Had to use console commands (with a mod) to fix 2 different quests. One was in the final act right before the end of the game. Needs lots of bug fixes and quality of life improvements before I can recommend

Great game, worth playing
