Gods of Love: An Otome Visual Novel

A really addicting game. I started it and couldn't stop playing it until I'd finished all the main routes. Sometimes the story can get a bit repetitive between the routes, but each character adds a new side to the story and keeps it interesting. The artwork is amazing, and the story plot is ok. Over all, it was a great otome.

Really short game. Steam says I played for 3 hours and that's with me hunting for all the endings / achievements. I guess I read fast? Got it on Kickstarter (with the art book and everything) and only got around to playing it recently. Biggest PRO is the Gorgeous Art. So, if you don't like the art, it would be better to pass or wait for a sale. Protagonist Thalia has a feisty personality and isn't a doormat so that's a plus (most of the time at least). 3/4 guys are okay (Helder is just very annoying and 99% of his route felt like a lecture from a priest or a dad about how short a skirt you're allowed to wear or what time of the day you're allowed to go out). My personal ranking is Rhane > Lysander > Exinious. Helder should be yeeted away entirely to the dark dimension, let's not talk about him. Exinious would be higher up if not for Thalia's inner thoughts with him. See next paragraph for elaboration. The script gets awkward at times when it seems like the flow gets interrupted so a character can point out obvious things like the importance of consent, the difference between being mean during roleplaying and being mean irl, how a woman doesn't really need a man, etc. If these moments were better written instead of show-stopping and distracting, I'd be more on board. Like, yes, Thalia, I know you two are just bantering. No need to tell me every two lines about how it wouldn't be okay to say those mean things if you were not roleplaying... Seriously, I would've enjoyed Exinious route more if not for Thalia's constant reminders about what roleplaying really means. As for the story, there is one story, one problem, and one solution, so it doesn't really branch or differ so much from route to route. So, just pick the guys you like and ignore the ones you dislike (like Helder). That's all. And that's the end of my review. TLDR: Great art, short game, Helder sucks, Rhane is <3.

Nice story, pretty sprites

The character are amazing and the protagonist is one of the most relatable I've ever seen in an otome game.

Exinious was my favorite route, followed by Rhane and then Lysander. Parallels to both Greek mythology and Christianity while still maintaining its own magic.

I liked that it has a short play-through, although it does make the story feel more than a little rushed. I also wish that they would not have skipped the love scenes, seriously, that's why I play these games! Nevertheless, I am enjoying it anyway. Team Lysander! Mmm... I love his lusty, desirous, "I want you" face.

I'm giving the game a thumbs up mainly because I don't feel like its fair to give it a thumbs down since I got it for dirt-cheap on sale. Ultimately its- a perfectly okay game with an interesting concept that unfortunately suffers from how damn fast the plot flies by. One minute Thalia is wondering why all these gods are in love with her- the next she's passionately making out with one of them. In the end I feel like this had the potential to be a good game if it was fleshed out and given more time- but as it stands it's just fine. not good, not bad. fine. Get it on sale if you do want to play it.

I bought the game in crowfunding, mostly for the artwork. First time for otome game. In the beginning I thought that I'd have loved the route with Rhane and liked the one with Lysander but after I've played all the route I prefer Exinous. I enjoyed the game, I played it without rush, but I think it's a little expensive. It'll be lovely sometimes to have some kind on discount o have a bundle (game + DLC). But nevertheless I recommeded it. It's a lovely game, it makes me think to don't judge a book from the cover, and I hope in future to see other classical otome. Or why not, even a yuri one even if the gamehouse almost do only yaoi (but the way I like yaoi).

I certainly would recommend buying the game at full price. It has pretty art and a great concept but feels very rushed and lacks depth.

I am very dissapointed with this game. I have played through 2 of the characters and the storyline is very similar. Not much is changed. The storyline is the same and I recognize a lot of repeating sentences. I also feel the story is shallow and rushed. I regret paying money for this game and I wil not recommend it. It is a waste of money
