Glitchspace is about reprogramming the game to solve puzzles. Trapped in an abstract cyberspace world, your way forward uses visual programming to edit environmental geometry, whilst unlocking key programming concepts along the way.

Wtf? It's free now? I faintly remember backing this on kickstarter or indiegogo or whatever, or maybe getting it off of indiegamestand or desura or something. But now it's free? And didn't the game used to be different? I remember there being completely different levels, being able to reprogram so many different things instead of just red cubes, which made the game feel way less restrictive, and there was even a programming gun. A programming gun is way cooler than the Doom 3 soul cube we have now. In fact, the entire game was cooler. Including the fact there was even a Linux port back then. The Glitchspace we have now sucks, though. It gets SO tedious, and feels SO restrictive, and the menus require SO much clicking, and the levels are SO big and open and it takes way too long to get anywhere. Seriously, did the levels need to be this big and open? There are so many paths don't even go anywhere or do anything. Entire staircases lead to nowhere. There's whole set-pieces you never do anything with. Am I here to program or do some sightseeing? To simplify this: Giant open areas like this are NOT atmospheric. They're just a time sink. Please respect my personal time. Also, let's stop for a moment and savor the fact a game about programming, presumably for programmers by programmers, blatantly violates an age old golden rule that every programmer has already known for decades: NEVER require more than 3 clicks to access anything through your interface. If somebody needs to go more than 3 clicks deep to access something, then you have failed. And since you start reprogramming cubes by right-clicking them, that's 1 click already consumed. So of course the main gameplay mechanic will get tedious very quickly. To simplify this: The programming interface is in dire need of an overhaul. Minimize the clicks. The cheapskate in me is mad that I paid for something that's free, but the socialist in me is glad I helped give something to humanity. I just wish I could have given humanity the earlier version instead, because this one is a tedious, boring time sink.
Sinopsis

Puzzles but with essentially visual coding. I enjoyed the challange to my mind. A couple of bugs that really only need you to turn the game off and launch it again to fix them. Every puzzle was solvable, though I believe I solved a few purely by accident or by managing to cheese around with the one block given to you. This would be an interesting game to see speedrunners try to break haha edit: it took me 6 hours to complete the story, saw a review say it was too easy and took 3 hours. Just saying, not everyone thinks the same way or processes information as fast. The door into the final few puzzles had me stumped until I remembered to spawn cubes and eventually figure out the id needed.
Glitchspace, bulmacaları çözmek için oyunu yeniden programlamakla ilgilidir. Soyut bir siber uzay dünyasında sıkışıp kaldığınızda, yol boyunca önemli programlama kavramlarının kilidini açarken, ileriye giden yol, çevresel geometriyi düzenlemek için görsel programlamayı kullanır.
I got stuck in a death loop 30 minutes into the game (bug), but hey, the game is free, so I can't complain.
Novel first-person puzzler with programming mechanics. It's free, so if you like the look of the video, check it out!
"Glitchspace" is another Portal/Q.U.B.E like first person puzzler from Itchio, but this one has you doing trite little Node.red style mini programming puzzles to solve the various puzzles you're set up against. What do you do in the game? It's a first person puzzler, so you're dropped into a minimalist low poly environment (it kinda looks like how they envisaged the internet would like in 2026 back in 1995, and let me tell you, 1995 was wrong about the internet) and discover you can't go anywhere without solving puzzles. This involves bringing up a little 2D graphical programming interface and dragging and dropping around different objects, evaluators/operators to make a little "programming circuit" that changes the world around you and lets you plod on to the next puzzle. And I do mean plod... you can't run, you can only step around in a painfully slow manner. That brings up one of the bigger issues with this beyond the visuals... the game itself really lacks polish and the puzzles don't really engage well. I'd rather play Portal again and try to remember how to do those puzzles than plod through this one. This is another case of Itch failing the one single job it has... to protect and preserve the gaming industry from badly made amateur games, by containing them to their group-hug website so they don't leak out to platforms like Steam where gamers look for professionally made, high quality products. In terms of visuals, this features very low quality "minimalist" low poly 3D graphics which will deter a lot of gamers, understandably. Gaming is a visual medium, and while some developers struggle with creating high quality visuals, failing to do so is a disservice to gamers. It's very difficult to recommend bad looking games. I'm sure the developers thought this was "artistic" but it really just comes across as "lazy". This game is ancient, it's over 10 years old... it's heavily dated and isn't going to give you a remotely contemporary gaming experience... another reason for gamers to be hesitant about adding this to their libraries. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. There's no initial download price, but the developer was charging $13 USD for this. Price barriers, especially on low quality products, can be a direct cause of failure. It seems like a nice gesture for the game to have no up-front cost anymore, but it also tells us that the game wasn't good enough to succeed as a paid product. This is also a bit of a slap in the face to anyone who showed enough questionable judgement to pay money for this... nobody got refunded. In terms of public reception, this failed to appeal to the 130 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at just a dozen or so concurrent players, and now there's basically nobody playing it. Even though it's free. This is a dismal public reception, but it's easy to see why gamers rejected it. Given that this free title won't increase your game collector count, is it worth your time to add it to your library? This is a "maybe" experience... if you have a lot of free time on your hands and nothing else to do, why not? But for the purposes of a review, this isn't something I can say everyone must try. It's not quite there. Valve doesn't give us a "maybe" option in reviews, but if they did, that's what I'd choose for this.
