THE BEST GAME IV PLAYED SINCE RDR2

good game

TLDR: May not be the best open world. May have some repetitive small quests like many you've already played. But it sure is a looker, and the core gameplay is tight and progresses in a way that keeps you hooked. About 1/3 of the way through including DLC at the moment. This game initially just looked cool. I was expecting something like RDR2 or KCD open world with some flashy combat somewhat like Sekiro. Initially, thought it was pretty cool, with an alright enough story and a pretty enough world to keep me playing with the pretty great core combat. About around the time I finished clearing the 1st area, I was pretty overleveled for most things, and had picked up all the drip I could find (big part of many games for me). Admittedly I was slowing down and stopped playing for awhile. Picked it back up, and after doing more in the 2nd area, holy moly, this game opens up a ton. Many of the level-up things start to matter a lot more. On Lethal difficulty, things go from "ow" to "literally you die in 1-2 hits," and while it can be a bit frustrating at times, it makes for some insane hype moments when you win a duel or use every tool you have to fight 15 enemies at once. Many environments are gorgeous, and the build variety is pretty great. You can kind of pick and choose what to play with without needing to respec in any crazy way. Definitely pick it up if you haven't, and if you enjoy cool ninja games. I was never an Assassin's Creed fan growing up, but it feels to me like what I always wanted those games to be, especially the more modern ones. Overall, a pretty pleasant surprise even with the acclaim this series has received.
