Okay, we're talking about $5 here..... So the real question is this worth your time? No. No it isn't. The game lacks depth, complexity, difficulty, and all the other things you'd expect from a proper survivors game. You'll die more often from poor hitboxes than actual game difficulty. Looking at this developer's other games, it appears they just blatantly rip off other popular titles. I seriously doubt they actually know how to make a fun game. Avoid. I'd refund this if I didn't wait too long to play it.
Absolute abandonware! Game has serious potential, if it was ever to be finished. But sadly no updates, no upgrades, no responces, no tech help, this is barely a tech demo at best. game should be free and even then its one 20 min round of going in circles and you have all the achievements. developer uploaded a demo with no intent to add to or fix or finish it, he never responds to comments or the forum, dont waste your money here! send your money to indie game devs that deserve your time and effort.
Bottom Line: This was a frustrating game to review, because I wanted to like it more than I do. I love the Geometry Wars-inspired nostalgia bait graphics, and it gets a lot of the fundamentals right, but there just isn't enough game here to recommend it more broadly (at least in its current state). I would only recommend this to people who are addicted to survivors-likes and want to pass the time between updates of their preferred games. Pros: The game has eye-catching visuals, satisfying sound design, tight controls, and enemy movement/mechanics that are a little more diverse and challenging compared to similar games. I didn't experience any deaths that felt unfair, nor did I encounter any game-breaking bugs, and the game runs extremely smoothly. I also always appreciate when games like this include per-weapon DPS on the end-of-run summary screen. Cons: Achievement diversity is lacking, as they are all based on survival time. I was able to knock them all out in about 3.5 hours. (The 20 minute survival achievement currently appears to be bugged, and it took me 4 wins to unlock.) People who are better at video games will be able to reach 100% achievement completion in less time. There's also a lack of depth to this game, compared to similarly priced games in the genre. There is only one map/game mode, and you have no incentive to increase the difficulty or play as the other characters. (I got to 100% meta-progression, just to make sure I wasn't missing anything before writing this.) You also don't need any strategy or build planning in order to win. If you have a couple of the strongest weapons and some meta-progression, that's enough to carry you through every run. And as a minor nitpick, some of the player attack colors are very similar to enemy colors (Boomerang and Explosive Trail, for example). In practice, this isn't a huge problem once you've figured out how to win consistently.
I'm torn on this one. It's a very pretty game, and I enjoyed playing it. The trouble is that there's not a whole lot here. A single level, not that many weapons or characters, and it's (sort of) missing the "chest"-mechanic from VS. It looks to have been abandoned by the developer immediately after release. On a sale though, I'd say buy it, you'll probably be able to wrangle 2-3 hours of enjoyment from it. I just wish there was more, to be honest.
Quite possibly the best game in existence.
Looks like Geometry Wars, plays like Vampire Survivors. Isn't as fun as either of them.
Great fun for adults and children alike! Challenging and addictive,. best played with controller
It's a great game to play if you don't have a lot of time to play games.
It costs the same as Vampire Survivors does and despite coming out 2 years after it it is so devoid of anything worth engaging in that there is no conceivable world where you should get this unless you already have vampire survivors. Even then, this is a much worse experience.
a very thin take on the format
