Genopanic is an interesting action puzzle platformer! You are back to the space station, but something is not right... the GMO monsters are on the lose!
About This Game

Storyline
You headed back to the space station and everything is upside down! The GMO monsters are on the lose, scientists are dying, and the dark matter is getting out of control! Can you capture the GMO monsters? Can you find out what’s happening with the dark matter? And what’s the AI up to? The story is really cool!
Gameplay mechanics
It’s a very well developed action puzzle platformer! There are multiple weapons to defend yourself and interact with the environment. The further you go, the more you find! It’s important to note that even though it looks like a metroidvania, it’s more of a linear experience and that’s the reason it’s a “non-metroidvania”. The enemies are more of an ambience nuissance than an obstacle or fight. The environment is the real danger! There are multiple instant death threats. Too many to be honest... which is a dread, because you respawn back in the save point. Typically not too far away, but it’s not fun to go through multiple rooms all over again. The game could have a same room respawn for instant death or allow to rewind movements in a 5s timeframe. The puzzles are interesting and get a bit more difficult along the way. Especially some of the GMO ones. Bosses are more on the easy side, but really fun and interesting. There are a few quality of life improvements that could be made: • Standing on a fence you have just climbed will make you fall for no reason. • Switches can’t be reversed, so you have to wait the full action. There are many elevator switches and typically the elevator is away from the switch. It’s a common dread to press a switch, then the elevator goes up, and you have to keep waiting until it goes all the way up in order to press again, and wait until it goes all the way down to press again, and go up with you... not fun... Apart from these small issues, it’s a really fun experience! The game takes around 5h to complete a playthrough.
Visuals & Audio
The visuals are simply amazing! There is nothing to say, but “wow”! The audio is nice, it blends really well with the whole experience!
Pros

• Interesting story. • Beautiful graphics. • Fun gameplay!
Cons

• Too many instant deaths. • Can’t reverse switches.
Conclusion

Genopanic is a great game! A few tweaks and it could be even more awesome! Rating: 8.8/10

I have enjoyed the demo, it is something different from mainstream. The hand-holding is unnecessary in my opinion and it would be a great feature if it can be turned off in the full game. Depending on the price and length I will most likely purchase the full game sometime after the release date. Good luck Team!

in it's current state, the game has many issues, the biggest one being the fact that you cannot rebind controls, not for keyboard or controller. this is a huge blunder especially in 2024, while it doesn't impact controller THAT much, the keyboard controls are atrocious. this is only a trial though so it SHOULD be fixed in the main game also the game does not save your settings for whatever reason, so if your ears get blasted when you open it, have fun with that everytime again, the biggest issues and most of the small issues should be fixed but the game is looking REALLY promising so it gets a recommended from me, despite the issues
I was honestly amazed by how beautiful the game looked, even from the title screen. It just looked so clear. The gameplay was fun, I enjoyed the atmosphere. The objectives were fun. It was bit unfortunate that you can't go back and explore after you reach the end since previous areas are not reachable, but, that's a demo/prologue for now so exploration might be a thing in the full game. Also, it's not a huge issue but the map menu feels too zoomed in, the ability to zoom out would be helpful I believe.
Неплохо.
intresting game to play it has amazing neon block structure
this is a really good game. i would really like to see this with epic graphics like ghost song. i really think if this game was produced by a established aaa studio this game could rival the grand daddy of em all, super metroid. or would that be grand mammy. either way this game deserves the full treatment for reals. what if mercury steam redid this. hmmm!! its not even done and ive already hired metroid dread devs to remake it. lmao. nice job devs!!!
