About
GEMINI DISORDER is a strange story about two twin girls: Mei and Aoi. Despite external similarity, their characters are absolute opposites.

Mei is an open and kind girl, as well as an excellent student. She studies in a prestigious academy and has many friends. She loves her little sister very much and is willing to do everything to make her happy.

Aoi, on the contrary, is closed and lonely, and believes she’s not needed anywhere she goes.Suffering from mental disorders, she’s constantly depressed. She communicates only with her sister, always envying her beauty, intelligence, and ability to be friends with people. She is very attached to Mei and considers her to be the only person dear to her; but because of her personality she often quarrels with her.
On one endless day, Mei asks Aoi to walk around the city. During their walk, they meet a female student who studies with Mei named, Kaya. The girl showers them with a bunch of questions and forces herself to tag along with them. Kaya takes Mei’s attention the entire time. Aoi, seeing that Kaya is more interesting to her sister than her, walks behind them and feels lonely.
The flames of rage ignite inside of her. She’s angry at herself, her sister, and the whole world. She blames herself for her weakness and that she cannot offer her sister anything that would make her happy.

I found this to be a quite entertaining, messed-up short VN! The music is excellent and the art (especially the character sprites and horror stuff) is very nice too. The story is certainly uncomfortable plenty of times, however that just adds to the creepiness of it. The gloomy, suspenseful atmosphere is awesome as well and I got really captivated by it, together with the intriguing plot. The main issue probably is the fact that the game encompasses an intense and complex story in a very short time frame, causing it to feel somewhat superficial. I would love to find out about more details since I believe that this story offers great potential! Otherwise I was a bit bothered by how unnatural the characters were behaving/talking (perhaps it's done on purpose but the dialogues & monologues in "casual" situations felt kind of forced or just off to me lol). Besides that I'd say it's pretty good overall and worth trying with a discount!

ass, i swear I thought I was gonna get some choices but nah, just some trash characters, I finish 1 and half hours
I had some hopes going into this: a Yuri Psychological horror, with Gore and LGTBTQ+ themes? Sign me up. However, I can not recommend this, especially at full price. Maybe when it is at least 60% off, it's worth it, but don't go into it with high expectations. Don't go into it with any expectations. This way you can't be let down. What it's got going against it: - Awkward, clunky dialogue (maybe due to poor translation, but to be honest no one really acts like a real human being, or talks/reacts in a realistic way.) This is a general problem with the writing in this game. - Really short (under 1hr) - which wouldn't generally be a problem, but I don't think I'll remember anything from this game come, say, tomorrow morning. So it's short and also lacks impact and staying power. - You make 1 choice (that only really affects if you get an achievement or not). Which again wouldn't be a problem if not for the first bullet-point. What it's got going for it: - The creepy atmosphere is well constructed, I was just taken out of it way too often due to the dialogue. - Deece soundtrack that helps with the aforementioned atmosphere. - Artwork is really pretty. - Achievements are super easy to get. - Contains some messed up themes, which I always enjoy. - Yuri. In conclusion, unfortunately, the positives are greatly overshadowed by the horrendous writing, so get this when it's super-cheap*, if you really want to read through an atmospheric dark kinetic novel, or just skip it altogether. *I previously said 60% off, but $2 might still be too much - a dollar/euro seems more fitting.
The plot has elements for an interesting story, but the writing (dialogue included) makes it hard to take seriously.

The characters are unlikeable and one dimensional. The sisters are just portrayed as mentally unstable and the side character is only there to create conflict between the girls.
The dialogue is very flat, making the characters lack their own distinct personality. It makes them feel more like robots than potential human beings.
The mystery about the evil entity is never fully resolved, although I don`t know if that`s done as sequel-bait.
Mental health of the characters could have been more fleshed out and could have been written better for the story. Because of Mei`s
split personality disorder
, it makes the story harder to follow than it should have been.
If you`re going to use
rape
as part of the game`s plot, you should handle it more sensitively. Going into more of the emotional harm it does to the victim would have been more insightful from a reader`s perspective. In the story here, it just feels like it`s there for a quick plot twist than anything considering how little it`s addressed.
I have no problem with it being short. In fact, I love short visual novels I can complete in an hour or so, but there was definitely some stuff that could have been addressed with more perspective and better writing.
The truth: This game is not as bad as other reviewers make it seem.
I actually enjoyed this game. You would probably enjoy it more the less you initially know about it. Yes, it had this underlying mediocrity to it, but the story was pretty good if I do say so myself. The art had just barely enough variety to not distract from the story, which was satisfactory. Wasn't bad, wasn't fantastic. Art quality seemed pretty good in general. Though other reviews say the sprites were copies or barely edited from previous games in the series. Heck, I wouldn't know. I've only played this third one. (I also hear this is the best out of the three games in this series so far, but it isn't saying much because the other two are "trash", so they say.) Even if they are copies or barely edited sprites, I'm sure the dev was just trying to get out a good story idea quickly as opposed to focusing on pretty graphics. I can respect that. That last sentence in-game killed me though, why you gotta do this to me? Edited for formatting purposes (and a bit of expansion)
