Worst game I've ever seen. Not worth the price tag.

Gaunts Gambit is a fast multiplayer shooter with a pretty unusual setting, and I liked the basic idea of fighting through an abandoned school that has been left behind after a virus outbreak. The game is clearly built around quick matches rather than a long campaign, and I enjoyed how quickly it gets me into the action. The main modes give the experience some useful variety. Team Match focuses on small team combat, Zombies turns the match into a survival fight against increasingly dangerous waves, and Free For All lets me compete alone for the highest kill total. I liked having these different styles because each one changes how I approach the same general combat system. The zombie mode is probably my favorite because it gives the map more purpose. Barricading entrances and trying to survive as the pressure increases feels very different from simply hunting other players. I enjoyed those moments where I had to think about where the next wave might come from and whether my position was actually safe. The school setting is also a nice choice. It gives the game a recognizable environment that can support both close fights and more defensive play. The overall presentation is fairly straightforward, but I think the abandoned building works well with the darker tone. It feels more interesting than another generic military arena. My biggest issue is the game's current state. The original version has gone through major changes, and the developer has announced a larger revamp with additional maps, characters, weapons and modes planned. That makes the current experience feel more like an early foundation than a finished multiplayer shooter. I also think games like this depend heavily on having an active community. When there are enough people around, the PvP modes can be fun, but the limited scope makes the experience less convincing as a long term multiplayer game right now. I am more interested in the potential of the project than the amount of content that currently exists. Overall, Gaunts Gambit has a fun foundation with several different multiplayer ideas and a setting that gives the shooter some identity. I enjoyed the fast matches and especially the zombie survival mode, but the unfinished feeling and uncertain long term structure hold it back. There is potential here, though, and the planned improvements could make a big difference. Rating: 6.3/10
Devs gave up on it quickly, didn't look like the map it's set in at all. Way too unplayable and glitchy
