Yeah... I get it, I've got like 10 minutes of gameplay in this game. Is that enough time to determine if you like a game or not? Yes, the answer is certainly yes. I'm assuming each weapon is incredibly heavy as you can barely muster a swing with the sword or hammer. Aiming with the spear and shooting at flying enemies? HAH! You can do that elsewhere, but you're going to have a hard time here. The graphical choice is... Weird. I get that we're going for a Hellish landscape vibe here, but it doesn't do a lot of good when the enemies and background just kind've meld together.

Gates of Hell is a game where you survive through hoards of demons using various weapons. The game itself looks like it was just slapped together with some Unity assets and they called it a day. It's certainly not the worst thing I've played, but it's not good at all. You can slash or shoot the demons that spawn in at random spawn locations and during the different rounds, you'll come across different demons to slay. Some of the weapons you get are a sword and some items that shoot things called pain charges. The visuals as mentioned before look like they were taken from Unity just to create the game. The audio is your generic monster sounds and some hard music to go with the demon theme. There are achievements, but I don't think anyone would want to bother trying to get these. There's not much to this game, so don't bother.
Extremely buggy, punishes you for surviving without killing all demons, no feedback from kills, in short a garbage asset flip
Great game! Very Fun! If you want a fun, inexpensive, pretty looking, Serious Sam crossed with Doom, wave based shooter this is it. I recommend toggle the setting to let you keep run always enabled as walk speed is a death sentence. 9/10 for price and fun value.
Redeeming features absolutely nothing. Not worth buying.
I dont get the hate for this game. For a dollar you get a fast paced arena FPS, decent weapon variety and a very special graphics style that I really enjoyed. My biggest complaint is that it is possible to walk on this game. Sprinting should be enabled by default, since there is absolutely ZERO point in walking on this game. I load up the game, have no clue what to do, and assume that you all do is slash demons with a sword. I was about to make a negative review calling it utter garbage. Why does the option to walk even exist?? It is strange how some of these games manage to leave an ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE first impression, but then are actually quite fun when you get the hang of it. Did the developers not think that it was going to be a problem that there are no tutorials, and then you start off walking this slowly with no clue what to do?? Another problem is the "Aim Assist" option in this game. This straight up makes the game extremely buggy and your screen shaking for no reason. Again, like with the sprint, it is just pointless and just makes the game bad if it is not disabled. I am honestly pretty baffled how the devs managed to mess this up so bad. Two completely pointless features to an otherwise decent game. Final Note: The trailer for this game is damn awful in my opinion.
~10 minutes may not sound like long enough to develop a fully-formed opinion of a game, and usually I'd agree, but trust me in this instance. Everything about this is horrid. It's a wave-based Bullet Hell where combat feels incredibly clunky and slow. The entire game looks like an asset flip dipped in chrome. It's all-around hideous and buggy and not at all fun. I suppose it at least functions, though I almost wish it didn't.
