"집착의 망자 - 집으로부터의 탈출" isn't a game, it's a cringey non-game high school anime club dropout fan-fiction that's been dumped on Steam into the games section. As a visual novel, it doesn't have any gameplay. It's just a lot of clicking through bad, cringe dialogue that no real publisher would ever accept. When people can't get their work published in print, they pay the $100 fee to dump their fan-fiction here instead, where we have to put up with it when looking for things that are actual PC games. This garbage e-book is only written for Koreans and carries the usual badly written fan-fiction plot... this particular one is about a stranger in your home (who presumably makes you read badly written Korean fan-fictions that he thinks are games). And yes, the subject is all about the author and his imaginary boyfriend. This is a Choose Your Own Adventure format, but that doesn't make it a game. It's still just a book. Nobody finishes the pain of reading a cringey CYOA fan-fiction and thinks it was a video game. Visual novels are tedious at best. Imagine the best novel you ever read, be that Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy or Twilight (kidding), but translate it to a format where you've to click your mouse for every single sentence instead of just turning pages. You'd think it was garbage. Now imagine that clicking experience, but with utterly cringe anime club fan-fiction writing. If the author had any talent, this would be published in print on bookshelves. Instead, it's here on Steam. This garbage only ended up on Steam because they paid $100 to self-publish since no real publisher would take them. E-books are just a collection of cringe writing and badly generated character imagery (usually done with a construction kit/image generator). So it might as well be a web page. We don't spend thousands on gaming rigs just to use them for what might as well be reading a website. In terms of public reception, this having no up-front cost still didn't help. SteamDB stats show this peaked at a tiny handful of readers and then cratered. With a peak count of just a dozen or so readers, it's safe to say the PC community wisely decided to ignore this. While this e-book's free, you can get better quality books and comics for free online or from public libraries. Steam is for PC games. Your gaming rig is not a Kindle or a mobile phone e-book reader. It's impossible for me to recommend things to PC gamers that aren't really games.
