Best game to get steam sale achievment
War Era Gatherer (AKA War Era Lumberjack) is barely a game. It's a Unity based non-English Japanese 2D retro pixel top down time challenge game where you have one unit and you must click on the unit and then a tree. The unit will gather wood. Repeat this until your 2 minute timer runs out. You are graded from A-F on your performance at this single button game. There's no English translation, but the language of bad games is universal. It's unclear why such garbage is permitted on Steam... I know Valve has no quality control, but some line should be drawn at what constitutes a game... this train wreck doesn't. It doesn't seem like a sincere attempt at making a game, it's more like someone paid $100 to dump some garbage on Steam so they can just point and laugh at it. Taking this seriously as a game, it's terrible. A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics. The implementation here is of such poor quality, the developer couldn't work out how to make the game display in fullscreen, it only runs in a window. There's also no audio controls so you're forced to listen to this ear-damagingly bad blippy repetitive "music". It's completely unpleasant. The game is free, which means this isn't some kind of cash grab or a scam, but the quality is so deplorably low this is just polluting the Steam store, which in itself is harmful. This pollution is taking up visiblity and marketing space from games that were developed by sincere developrs who did the right thing, and it makes it harder for those games to find an audience. It makes it harder for gamers to find genuine games, too. It's impossible to recommend this to gamers, and we can only hope Valve will implement some quality control at some point, instead of relying on reviews like mine to warn gamers away from pollution like this. One final note: Because this is more of a "joke" game, intended to draw attention from controversy or in the hopes of going viral because it's "so bad it's good" (but it isn't good at all), there's nothing here to offer to serious gamers. As usual, with most awful/joke games, all the comedians come out of the woodwork. The vast majority of the reviews for this game are joke reviews, such as "this game cured my cancer, saved my marriage, changed my life" etc. Because most of the reviews are as insincere as the game itself is, the positive review score for this game should be disregarded.

You know how in most RTS games you have a basic units that gather resources? Like in Age of Empires with villagers and wood. Now imagine that mundane activity is your entire game. Yes, in a 2 minute time limit, click your lone villager and gather as much wood as you can. There's no English in the game itself, so this shouldn't even be advertised as having English Subtitles or Interface, even if there's nothing that really requires understanding. High score: B ranking (80)
