Prison of Despair is a non-English mobile app/e-book/Choose Your Own Adventure that's been dumped on Steam as a cash grab by greedy mobile devs. The text component is badly written (I don't speak Chinese, but the fundamental axiom remains, if these guys could write properly, this would be a book published on bookshelves and not a garbage mobile app polluting Steam). Of course the worst parts here are all because this is a mobile app, and because mobile devs are greedy and unethical. Apart from just being an e-book rather than a proper game, the other hallmarks of mobile apps are there... locked resolution/controls, and no way to improve the garbage visuals from software designed to run on an iPhone instead of a 4K high refresh gaming display. But let's get to the main problem, this garbage mobile app polluting Steam isn't even free, it's got nasty, predatory mobile app microtransactions in it. The chapters are time gated so you need to wait a long time or pay a lot of money to the mobile app scammers in charge of this cash grab. That kind of crap shouldn't even be tolerated by mobile peasants, but here the developers think the PC gaming elite are going to give them money. There's a lot of things I think they should get, but I'll settle for a thumbs down.
