About
"In times of boredom, there's only one logical thing to do...
...travel to another dimension, recreationally!"
- A. Wandereye (probably)
Fourmiworld is a free game all about exploring a strange world orbiting a dying star. Along the way you'll discover the remains of a lost civilization, encounter bizarre creatures, unlock tools to aid your expedition, and more.
If you'd like to support us, consider checking out the Wandereye's Writings DLC. It isn't necessary, but we recommend it if you want the definitive Fourmiworld experience.
If you enjoy at least 7 of the following points, we think you'll really click with Fourmiworld:
Games with destructible environments and secrets to discover.
Open-world exploration and nonlinear progression.
Insects, bugs and Sci-Fi ecosystems.
Piecing together the history of a long-gone alien race.
Atypical artstyles, collage, girls with flowers for eyes.
Growing stronger and gaining abilities to better navigate your environment.
Games that don't hold your hand and just let you figure things out.
Atmospheric, ambient music that adapts to where you are.
Personalized experiences, seeing things other players will not see.
The word "Frondosity" invokes a certain joy in you.
These games inspired us a lot during development. We think you should give the game a try if you enjoy at least two of these:
Metroid - Game-altering upgrades & lonesome alien atmosphere.
Terraria - Digging anywhere & obtaining resources to get new abilities.
Hylics - Surrealistic stylization & unconventional vibe.
Yume Nikki - Exploring exactly how you want to & seeing weird/cool/scary things.
Starseed Pilgrim - Lack of hand-holding & tile interaction aspects.

Very cool atmosphere. Very good game. Wish I had the energy to play it more but such is life
cool
this game is so charming! It has such a stong identity!! I love the protagonist in particular! It is also finely tuned, the platforming was smooth as butter. The destructable world was unique, I haven't seen something like that in a while. I liked how at the end the game showed a time-lapse of your journey through the rock and soil, that was a fun suprise. I have no idea what the plot was, but it didn't matter much to me. I would say this game is a solid 4/5 stars!

Strange and cool game
its so sigma
been a while since i've played a game that just nailed that whimsy of exploration so well! as a kid, i used to be so enamored with open world games, the whole vastness of it to explore. but a lot of the AAA open world games don't really tap into that same feeling of exploration i've once felt. there's this term i've heard, "skittles gameplay", which i think captures my main qualms of modern open world games in that they kinda feel like picking up little pieces of candies here and there, just bits of dopamine that feels ultimately fleeting. i think with the vastness that the genre oft demands when given a big budget warrants some dilution, making it difficult to always have that very particular and handcrafted moments. that's a primary reason why i prefer more focused, smaller-scale indie games these past few years, but it's neat to see a game manage to jam-pack such compelling exploration in a few hours experience! i think it helps a ton that i quickly opted for the DLC with the log entries, because the enthused curiosity of the protagonist in exploring the world is infectious. it's so neat just encountering something so off and weird and wondering what this thing is within this world and pulling up the entry afterwards, kinda paralleling the main character documenting their findings. and this game is just brimming with these strange entities to find; the game feels so unabashedly and shamelessly weird which makes it all the more charming. and while i need to play the game more and find the additional bits of secrets and lore to really get at these themes, the game does a real neat job circling around these ideas of self-love and self-grace amidst a world stained with hatred and hostility. overall, just a surprising experience that'll stick with me ! bonus points also for the game introducing me to the term "laythems" as an alternative to "laymen". i am going to be stealing that.
This blew past all expectations I had for a free game. Visuals and music are great and the gameplay is a wonderful way to get lost in them, it's short too so you should try it.
Great music, gameplay, and the perfect length. Love the aesthetics.
Unique in gameplay, too! I was put off by the art at first but it grew on me. Great platforming, music, exploration, puzzles. Edit: Masterpiece.
really delightful and sweet game, highly recommend it, especially if you're willing to get the wandereye's writings dlc also scoop you owe psychic mantis money, please pay it back soon
