So devs, you guys just discovered that report spamming is a thing or what?
As of September 2026, I would describe Forza Horizon 6 as "untapped potential". As much this game is a step-up from Forza Horizon 5, Forza Horizon 6 feels very stale and leaves no other racing content for playing post-campaign and no replay value. The pros include the return of progression from using slow cars to faster cars, finding special cars as aftermarket vehicles in the open map, and the garage builder feature. The Japan map is also one of my favorite Forza maps along with Forza Horizon 2 in France/Italy border and 3 in Australia. Sadly, the cons outweigh the pros for more reasons. The F.O.M.O system, or the Festival Playlist, returns to the game, despite developers saying that they would "fix" the FOMO system, which was adding an exclusive car to multiple seasons rather than one. It doesn't help as the rewards are just cars that were previously added in past Forza games, but then labeled as "exclusive" to FH6, same with FH5. The other negative includes a lack of customization, which is very disappointing since car cosmetic tuning is a part of the Japanese car culture. The Crew Motorfest has way more customizable parts for vehicles, where Forza cars only have one wing and splitter. The other issue I have is a lack of communication from the developers. After the game launched, the community has gotten absolutely no communications from the Forza team of what the game will offer in the future, aside from social media posts. Before the game, the developers were open and talked with the community, but now, the Forza team have been radio silent. I have a few more issues with the game, but I don't want to go through them. TDLR: Forza Horizon 6 is a beautiful game with a diverse map and in some ways, is a huge step up from past Forza titles. However, the game is currently in a chokehold of feeling stale from a lack of upcoming content, lack of replay value, and no communication from the developers. For now, unless we have any kind of official news, Forza Horizon 6 remains a disappointing game in the franchise with potential, yet to be released.
Great map, but lacks soul, Japanese racing atmosphere, and true Festival competition
Forza Horizon 6 features a beautifully designed map and incredible graphics, but it feels too much like FH5. Despite the setting, it completely misses those iconic "Japanese vibes"—car tuning remains largely unchanged, lacking deep JDM customization or proper Touge culture, and Street Races feel just like any ordinary race without that underground, illegal edge. The story mode is hollow and lacks depth. While there's always the Online mode for multiplayer racing, the single-player campaign lacks that true Horizon Festival spirit. I'd like to see the system from FH1 back or similar, where leveling up your wristband unlocked actual rivals with distinct personalities and memorable rivalries. Here, you’re just checking off races on a checklist. The endgame feels empty, mostly centered on grinding the seasonal playlist and nothing more. Even games like The Crew Motorfest, which are arcade-focused, handle better the progression and endgame. To top it off, moderation seems more focused on banning harmless liveries than actual cheaters. Beyond the seasonal playlist, there’s very little to keep you hooked. It's visually stunning, but desperately needs better street racing atmosphere and meaningful progression.
