good
macht sehr spaß
I’ve played this game for 720 hours, and overall, I think it’s been really good. Drift Attack currently only has one track, but hopefully more tracks will be added someday, just like Time Attack. The races also feel more alive now, and you guys have been pretty quick at fixing bugs, which is great. However, I feel like there are just two things that are missing: 1. Could you add a ranked match or ranked race system to the game? Something similar to the ranked system in FH4, but please don’t make it team-based like it was back then. Maybe it could work more like Horizon Play, where players who finish in the top 3–5 positions earn points, and once they reach certain point milestones, they receive rewards. With the current system, once a player reaches Horizon Play Level 25, there’s no more reward to earn. Even reaching Level 100 starts to feel empty because there’s nothing to look forward to as a reward. 2. Could you please get the Bugatti license for the game? Is getting a Bugatti license really that difficult? I really hope we can drive Bugatti cars in this game someday. Thank you!
Having the game set in Japan makes me incredibly happy. It is a place I have always wanted to see, and I am completely mesmerized just cruising through the neon-lit city streets and winding mountain roads. The graphics are breathtaking, and the gameplay is flawless. In my opinion, this game has absolutely no rivals in the racing genre. A true masterpiece!
Very fun and map is beautiful
frumos
Overall it's a solid game, and it's masterfully optimized. It runs at around 30 FPS on very old hardware, yet still looks beautiful. The world is well crafted and stunning, and the different areas all look distinct from one another. The cars are fun to drive and they actually feel very different from each other. Sadly, these positive points only impress for a while. The world looks nice, but feels empty. The Tokyo area especially lacks buzzing street life. Racing against the AI isn't satisfying either, as many others have already mentioned. Either you overtake them in the first few corners and they fall way behind, or you watch them take corners at speeds no player car could match. The Driveatars aren't fun either — most of them race like jerks, blocking you or simply ramming you when you try to overtake. Not a deal-breaker, but still annoying, are the arbitrary car classes. It's frustrating to spend time building a few nice cars, only to learn that most races require a different class. Many Festival Playlists also have decade restrictions, yet there's no way to filter cars by decade. Finally, the reason I'll stop playing for a while: the small pool of races. Finishing the game means racing the same circuits and sprints over and over, and it's just not motivating enough to keep going. Even the monthly Festival Playlists lose their grip after a while. And for a game set in Japan, the Festival Playlist content feels oddly mismatched — American pickups and Italian luxury cars come across as recycled content. I really wanted to like this game. I really tried, but I can't recommend it at the moment. I wish Playground Games will take the the criticism to heart and improve the game. It really has a solid base.
