I've put a lot of time into Forts, and it's honestly one of those games that's easy to keep coming back to. On the surface it looks like a simple base-building strategy game, but once you get into it, there's a surprising amount of depth. Every match feels different because you're constantly adapting your build, managing resources, and trying to outsmart your opponent. One thing I really appreciate is how active the developers are. They don't just push out DLC and disappear—they regularly release updates, hotfixes, balance changes, and bug fixes based on player feedback. Seeing issues get addressed so quickly makes it feel like they genuinely care about the game and the community. The new Firebird DLC is a great example of that. It adds a full story campaign, new weapons, a commander with unique abilities, multiplayer maps, and a fresh soundtrack. The missions do a good job introducing the new mechanics without feeling overwhelming, and the new weapons bring some fun strategies into both campaign and multiplayer. Another thing that keeps Forts alive is the community. There are official tournaments, ranked seasons, mod showcases, and countless Workshop creations. If you're into modding, there's an incredible amount of content that can completely change how the game plays, from new weapons to entirely new game modes. The physics are still one of the biggest highlights. Watching your opponent's base collapse after landing the perfect shot never gets old. It's satisfying, chaotic, and sometimes downright hilarious when everything goes wrong. That said, the game does have a learning curve. New players might find multiplayer difficult at first since experienced players can build and react incredibly fast. Some balance updates also change the meta pretty often, so competitive players need to stay up to date. Overall, Forts is one of the best physics-based RTS games available. Whether you enjoy competitive multiplayer, creative base designs, or just blowing things up in spectacular fashion, there's something here to enjoy. The steady stream of updates over the years shows that the developers are committed to improving the game, and that's a big reason why the community is still going strong nearly a decade after release.
