About the game
Formica is a realistic, top-down RTS where you control hordes of ants and termites. Gather resources and build massive armies to destroy enemy nests and take home the spoils of war!
Gameplay:
units will automatically gather resources around them and fight nearby opponents. The player's job it to build new units and direct their troops to the locations that would benefit the colony.
Game modes:
1v1 - fight an AI opponent of your choice in a tense struggle for domination!
4ffa - fight three AI opponents of your choice all competing with each other for victory!
missions - play a mission for each faction that tests your skills as a commander!
Factions:
Lasius Americanus - small ants that overwhelm their opponents with their speed and numbers!
Camponotus Pennsylvanicus - large ants with soldier castes unmatched in single combat!
Reticulitermes Flavipes - termites that have a specialized economy and the ability to construct barricades!
Resources:
Omnivores - both ant factions are omnivorous. This allows them to eat plant-based resources like dandelion seeds, sunflower seeds, and pinecones; but it also allows them to consume the meat of fallen enemies.
detritivores - the termite faction is limited to consuming the cellulose from logs giving them a distinct economic playstyle.
