About
The best dreams are to be forgotten, for they will destroy if not.
This game is based on nothing, the nothing that was something, now unthinkable.
Because of this, no description would be adequate.
However, I must try:
A game heavily centered on its scenery and artistic nature.
A game that is enigmatic, cryptic, and remembered.
First person adventure game
Navigate through liminal spaces and environments
Complete "objectives" and "minigames"
Survive against "enemies" and "monsters"
Progress through levels. Each level has its unique map generation.
Do nothing, see nothing, hear nothing, feel nothing.
That's how you remember it.

Broken, sloppy garbage. This is what QA is for.
I'm currently doing a challenge to play through a free game in every single category on steam. I then give an honest review using ChatGPT.
Game: 110 / 447 Category: Nonlinear "Nonlinear or Nonexistent?" The game starts with a man in a bedsheet running away—an intriguing, albeit odd, opening. But that’s where any semblance of coherence ends. Turning down a hallway triggers a screen-fuzz effect and a prompt to press “H” for a hint. The problem? The hints are incomprehensible because every menu shakes and blurs, making the text unreadable. Maybe it’s an intentional design choice, but it just feels broken. After some aimless wandering, a bed inexplicably appears. Sleeping on it teleports you to a strange new area, complete with what might be a gun—if shooting lasers counts. The environments change as you stumble forward, but the map's pop-in range is so short that objects appear two feet in front of your face, ruining any potential immersion. At one point, I found myself in a forest, heard a scream, and was seemingly attacked by... something? I turned around, but there was nothing there. As time went on, my character slowed to a crawl, sprinting at the pace of a tired turtle. That was the final straw—I quit. There’s a difference between being nonlinear and being a mess. This isn’t a mysterious, surreal experience; it’s a frustrating, directionless slog. Nonlinear storytelling and gameplay should feel intriguing, not like a complete absence of design.
i don't even know what i'm suppose to be doing. a little too abstract
Warning: Asset Flip! Forgotten Dreams is one of literally thousands of creatively bankrupt asset flips infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere.
This asset flip is at least trying to pretend to be more than just a bunch of other people's game assets, and of course it's some consolation that the developer isn't trying to get your money for other people's game assets. While there's no up front price for this asset flip, the other problem with asset flips is that when developers aren't capable of doing their job and creating high quality assets, it's also true they can't do any of the rest of the job of a game developer either. That's definitely true for "Forgotten Dreams", and this kind of asset flipping never results in games that have quality or value for PC gamers. In this case the assets are arranged, well, creatively. That doesn't mean they're arranged well... just creatively. This is a "more art than game" "experience" where you teleport through various environments... why, nobody knows. At best this could be described as pretentious claptrap, but with as much experience with terrible games as I have, all I see is just another haphazard bunch of Unreal assets. On the matter of pricing and value for gamers, most "free" games on Steam aren't really free. There's often nasty mobile app cash shops, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of shady pricing schemes that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable, or something you might want to spend your time on. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 2 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. While this won't cost you any money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, even when the game is free, it's still not enough.
