About
"No strategy. Just witness the end."
"Forgive or Finalize" is a short-form, experimental psychological thriller visual novel. You confront the mysterious Finn through a monitor in a confined space. There are no grand reversals, intricate puzzles, or strategic elements. As "Jamie," your only role is to stand witness to the absurd situation that "Finn" unfolds before you, and see it through to its conclusion.
This is not a game about making choices—it is an experience about witnessing.
If you enjoy short visual novels and narrative experiences driven by atmosphere and direction, you will find a dense psychological experience in a brief playtime.
If you are looking to freely branch the story through your choices, or seeking strategy and puzzle elements, this game may not meet your expectations. The choices in this game do not offer gameplay freedom—they function as part of the narrative.
Dialogue and Absurd Developments: You will face the questions posed by "Finn" on the other side of the screen. However, in this confined space, you are not granted true freedom. Choices are presented, but the story will not bend to your will.
Interactive Direction: More than just reading—intervene in the story through direct actions such as "picking up" or "consuming" the mystery capsule.
Psychological Pressure: Experience a sense of claustrophobia and heart-pounding tension. When you realize the true nature of this "dialogue," your reality may be forced to transform.
(1) Sudden loud noises, flashing lights, and shocking psychological depictions are included.
(2) Streaming and fan content are welcome, but major spoilers (the core of the ending) in thumbnails or social media are strictly prohibited.

I greatly enjoyed this game, and it was fun to voice act and read along to late with the lights off!! I absolutely adore both the plot and art style, though wish there were a few more endings to go through. I might get a friend to play this with at a separate time, but overall this was a very entertaining hour well spent due to the games very well portrayed story!! This isn't a game about choices or puzzles as it states itself in the description, and is truly the only reason I believe this has negative reviews due to misunderstanding. To finally note, ♥♥♥♥ you Jamie.

A short (free!!!) game that does per the description, it is not about the choices you make but the experience you follow as Jamie. Whilst I figured out what was going on reasonably quickly, Forgive and Finalize still left me feeling tense in the short time it took to enjoy this little game.
Ben. Beklemiyordum. Umarım oynarsınız.
This is honestly the worst game I've played in a while... the plot is essentially a retelling of a flashback between a character named Finn and Jamie, where Jamie killed Finn for money via this pill game, and you're playing the version where Finn tries to get revenge but fails because he still loves Jamie. First off...WHY? Why do you love your cold-hearted murderer who exchanged you for stacks? And how is he even haunting her? A dream? A literal redo? There is no logic in the concept at all. Some games are ambiguous and it's done well. The ambiguity here feels lazy and weird, not intentional. Second off... are we supposed to root for or like Finn at all..? Because the whole time, I felt nothing. At some point I just went "well...yeah, you might as well die. You're a public hazard if you're this unstable." We don't at all establish any rapport with Finn. We're just supposed to either distrust or care about him, which the game didn't make me feel either. I knew to trust him but also just felt indignant and annoyed. Third off, any story that's supposed to invoke unease is meant to do it through the ambiguity of choice. THAT is what paralyzes a person, knowing that they could do something and it might actually hurt them. Now, visual novels are scripted, YES, but most are not THIS obvious or THIS inflexible/black-and-white. Also, in the ending, there were 2-3 typos in there. And besides that, are we supposed to feel good about forgiving Finn when it's us, the player, not Jamie, canonically? He literally calls us by our name, saying Jamie wouldn't. Like... you did literally nothing to me?? And if you click "don't forgive," then it's just treated as though Jamie themselves said it, so there is not even a catharsis of like...releasing a ghost from torture, or whatever the heck the intended effect was supposed to be. It's just such a clearly lazily made game on all aspects. There is no thought to the psychology, aesthetics, music/sound effects, apparently even the grammar. The music just took me out of it. If you really want to study a musically engaging thriller, I suggest "Your Turn To Die." It's fantastic, genuinely immersive, gets you to care about the characters, and yes, is scripted but allows you to at least make faux-choices that FEEL like they matter. TLDR: The plot makes zero sense and doesn't evoke any emotion, and both the characters ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ suck.
It was well done and worth the time to play it. Good job devs.
