A psychological horror game where you take the role of Jonah, an 18 year old trying out a new board game, The Ouija Board, with his friend Emily. Little did they know, it was far from a simple board game.

About

Forbidden Terror is an episodic psychological horror game where each episode unravels a different horror tale.

They had no idea it was more than a simple board game.

"I have to admit, it was a beautiful house." -Enjoyable, short, smooth experience with two or three jump scares. Thanks for the achievements as well! I really liked how real the whole thing felt, true suspense/horror vibes in the flesh. I could feel the protagonist was scared from head to toes, and yet his motivation kept the balls aflame. Did not like the ending much, but this made it even more realistic. Hoping to see this little project updated with more chapters later on, maybe make them a little longer for a bigger thrilling ride. But honestly impressed with how well it runs on my current GT1030 setup.
⭐️⭐️⭐️☆ Forbidden Terror: Board Game is a short but surprisingly creepy little horror game. The story about Jonah and his friend messing around with an Ouija board in a house with a dark past sets the mood really well. It’s mostly a simple story-driven experience, but the atmosphere does a good job of pulling you in. The tension builds nicely and there are a few moments that genuinely caught me off guard. It’s not a super long game, but since it’s free it’s definitely worth trying. Perfect if you’re in the mood for a quick horror experience or just want something spooky to play for an evening. Overall, a solid little indie horror game. If you like psychological horror and Ouija-board type stories, you’ll probably enjoy this one. 👻

Forbidden Terror: Board Game is a free-to-play psychological horror title developed and published by Elite Lords Studios. Designed as the first chapter in an episodic horror series, it introduces players to a supernatural mystery that emphasizes atmosphere, storytelling, and suspense over traditional survival mechanics. Rather than attempting to overwhelm players with constant action, the game builds its identity around a slow-burning narrative that gradually escalates into increasingly disturbing encounters. Its concise runtime reflects its role as the opening installment, offering a focused experience that hints at a broader story yet to unfold. The narrative centers on Jonah, an eighteen-year-old who has recently relocated with his parents to a house burdened by a grim history. Unknown to the family, the property's previous occupants were victims of a horrific tragedy, leaving behind rumors and lingering fear. Jonah's friend Emily, fascinated by paranormal legends and ghost stories, persuades him to experiment with a Ouija Board purchased from a nearby convenience store. What begins as harmless curiosity soon unleashes terrifying events that blur the line between imagination and reality. The familiar premise is handled effectively, using gradual revelations and supernatural tension to maintain player interest instead of relying solely on predictable horror clichés. Gameplay focuses on first-person exploration and narrative progression. Players spend most of their time investigating environments, observing details, and uncovering pieces of the story while moving through carefully designed locations. There are no elaborate combat systems or resource management mechanics, allowing the experience to remain accessible while reinforcing the feeling of vulnerability. The absence of direct confrontation means every unexplained sound, flickering light, or strange occurrence carries greater weight, encouraging players to remain alert throughout the journey. The game's greatest achievement lies in its atmosphere. Detailed environments, realistic lighting, and cinematic presentation work together to create a persistent sense of unease. Even during quieter moments, the game successfully keeps players anticipating danger through environmental storytelling and subtle visual cues. The audio design deserves equal recognition, using ambient effects, unsettling silence, and carefully timed sound effects to heighten suspense. Instead of depending on an endless stream of jump scares, the game favors psychological tension, making the frightening moments feel more impactful when they finally arrive. Visually, Forbidden Terror: Board Game delivers an impressive presentation considering its free-to-play status. Character models, interior environments, and lighting effects contribute to a believable setting that enhances immersion. The developers clearly invested considerable effort into creating a cinematic horror experience despite the project's relatively modest scope. Performance also appears well optimized, allowing the game to remain accessible across a variety of hardware configurations without sacrificing its visual atmosphere. The episodic structure inevitably limits the overall depth of the experience. Character development remains fairly straightforward, and several story threads are introduced without immediate resolution, clearly intending to be explored in future chapters. Players expecting lengthy gameplay sessions, intricate puzzles, or complex survival mechanics may find the experience somewhat brief. However, the focused pacing prevents unnecessary filler and keeps the story moving consistently toward its supernatural climax. Forbidden Terror: Board Game succeeds by understanding that effective horror is built on anticipation rather than constant spectacle. Its combination of environmental storytelling, atmospheric presentation, and psychological suspense creates an engaging introduction to what has the potential to become an intriguing horror anthology. While the story draws inspiration from familiar paranormal themes, the execution remains entertaining enough to hold the player's attention from beginning to end, especially for fans of narrative-driven horror adventures. For a free introductory chapter, the game offers impressive production values and a memorable atmosphere that outweigh its relatively short duration. It may not reinvent the horror genre, but it demonstrates confidence in its storytelling and establishes a promising foundation for future episodes. Players who appreciate slow-paced supernatural mysteries, immersive exploration, and cinematic horror will likely find this opening chapter worthwhile and leave curious about where the series goes next. The game's seriously creepy, especially since the characters are determined to scare themselves ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Good stuff.
It was an enjoyable free game. Controls were janky in some places but again it was free can't complain
Слабый хоррор. В нем просто практически ничего не происходит, одни примитивные диалоги и все слишком медленно.
emily dumb as hell...
Такие хорроры заставляют жить.
