EAC is not the move. Killing Linux support is not the move. Making a 10 year old fighting game no longer work on my Steam Deck is extremely anti-consumer.
I don't even play this game anymore. I couldn't play even if I wanted to. Thanks Ubisoft!
Ubisoft made the a silly move on blocking play on steamOS machines. Do not spend money on this game and do not play it until steam is not intentionally blocked and allows steam deck, steam machine, steamOS and any other linux distro to play. I bet there are more windows cheaters than linux cheaters.
Another Linux user here adding my "No I do not recommend" review.
"We are removing For Honor from the Linux platform to ensure a safer environment for our players as we cannot meaningfully deploy protection on this platform. This means that For Honor will no longer be playable on Steam Deck starting September 10th. We will continue to investigate different ways to improve our anti-cheat with the possibility of reopening the platform in the future."
My opinion on if if the game is good in the first place varies wildly, but Ubisoft just dropped support on my OS sooo I guess they chose for me! Thanks ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥!
No Linux? - Goodbye. Banning Linux? - I will never buy your games.
Game is now blocked on linux, Cant even play a game I paid money for. in the name of "anti cheat" which is bs
played from ubisoft and back to played in steam because i change to used linux. and new update add Anti-cheat for blocking linux user. :( since this game have a less player from peaks time, new hero broken balance. Hope ubisoft use a brain for making decision, not a stake-holder decision.
Most of my playtime is on Ubisoft Connect, I have around 1.5k hours total. This game went to ♥♥♥♥, but it also has a special place in my heart because it was the very first game I played that got me into content creation. Most of my memories are from Season 2 since that's when I joined, For Honor had plenty flaws at the time but also an identity. It was fun, chaotic and completely broken. For Honor is no longer as fun or unique, most of the emotes and executions are either copy pasted or outdated memes that are meant to be funny I guess? I largely preferred when the game took itself seriously while still having some humor. Marching Fire was probably the last good Season despite the controversy, I loved Breach a lot. But most importantly, the love of my life was always there to support me. We've been through so much together until the very end. Isn't that right, Shugoki?
