It is a solid game and it's only for 3.99, it's a steal
Juegazo anashe :D
Bright and fun platformer with great levels and cute bugs. perfect for cheerful evenings. makes you smile after a long day happiness and fun are guaranteed. a delightful escape into colorful worlds!
Plays well on the Deck. Pretty much 90fps (OLED) most of the time at max settings, but when it does drop a bit it is hardly noticeable and not enough to impact enjoyability. A configuration window display on every start up, but nothing that can't be handled by the Deck's built-in override mouse control. Gameplay is fairly straight forward and not difficult at all. Story is silly, visuals are very nice, controls are basic, but handle fine and sounds good. I only encountered one bug (glitch), which made my character get stuck inside the environment so needed to restart the level; the rest of the bugs (insects/arachnids) are intended to be part of the game that you can (mostly) kill or run past so if you have a fear of some of these then perhaps skip this. Is it memorable in the long run? Maybe not, but you will most likely enjoy your playthrough as this feels like a casual romp for a younger crowd. Achievements are easy and a couple require replaying levels since there are time-based and collection-based stats you must complete for each level for those two. Overall recommended if you want a cute and stress free game to play.
Flyhunter Origins is a lighthearted side-scrolling platformer that tells a quirky story about Zak, a clumsy alien janitor who accidentally ejects both his crew and their valuable insect cargo into Earth’s orbit. To save face and avoid losing his job, he takes on the unlikely role of a Flyhunter, tracking down the missing bugs and recovering his companions. The setup immediately sets the tone for the game: it doesn’t take itself too seriously, but it uses its humorous premise to drive a simple yet colorful adventure that blends classic platforming with some creative chase sequences. The visual presentation is one of the game’s more charming qualities. Steel Wool Games, formed by animators with strong backgrounds in film and storytelling, inject personality into the characters and cutscenes. Zak himself is a goofy but endearing protagonist, and the environments embrace a “miniature” perspective where everyday settings like gardens and household spaces become massive, hazardous playgrounds. The cartoonish style suits the tone well, but when looked at closely, some textures and models reveal a lack of polish. Certain environments and backgrounds can feel repetitive, and while the art direction holds everything together, the graphical detail does not always match the strength of the concept. Gameplay follows familiar platforming traditions: you run, jump, swat enemies with a fly swatter, zap them with a blaster, and collect resources scattered across the stages. These collectibles can be used to purchase upgrades, but the system feels limited since it is possible to max out weapons fairly early, leaving little reason to grind or revisit earlier areas. Combat against small insect enemies is simple, and while functional, it does not add much depth beyond breaking up the platforming sections. Levels themselves are built around straightforward point-to-point traversal, with occasional obstacles and traps to dodge, though some repetition in layout and mechanics can set in over time. To mix up the pace, the game includes chase sequences at the end of certain chapters. In these moments, Zak uses a jetpack to pursue giant flies in fast-paced runs through obstacle courses. These sections are a fun idea in theory and inject bursts of energy, but they are often hampered by clunky controls and inconsistent hit detection. While they succeed in changing the rhythm, they can also become frustrating, especially when failures feel less about player skill and more about mechanical imprecision. Still, they serve as memorable set pieces that help distinguish the game from being a purely linear platformer. Technical performance is one of the weaker aspects of Flyhunter Origins. On less powerful systems or certain ports, players have reported frame rate drops, lag, and even stuttering that can impact the precision needed for accurate jumps. These issues are less noticeable on PC, but they were significant enough on handheld versions to affect reviews at the time of release. Considering the reliance on timing for both platforming and chase sequences, performance hiccups can make the game feel more difficult than intended. This is compounded by occasional glitches that break immersion, though not to the point of rendering the game unplayable. The campaign itself is brief, with most players able to finish it within a few hours. Because there are few optional paths or meaningful collectibles beyond the basic resource system, replay value is limited unless you enjoy revisiting levels for speed or completion challenges. What keeps the game engaging for its short runtime is its sense of humor, colorful characters, and the whimsical premise that turns ordinary environments into giant landscapes. However, players looking for a meaty or challenging platformer may find it lacking in both depth and longevity. As a whole, Flyhunter Origins offers a small but entertaining adventure. It doesn’t attempt to compete with the giants of the platforming genre, instead delivering a simple, accessible experience carried by its quirky story and imaginative setting. Its flaws—technical roughness, repetitive levels, and a short runtime—prevent it from standing out as a great game, but for those in the mood for something light and amusing, it can provide a few hours of fun. It is best approached with tempered expectations, as a whimsical distraction rather than a fully realized platforming epic. Rating: 7/10
