Fleeting World is a somewhat simplistic "city builder" strategy game where you must build a village, then place various resource harvesting outposts around yourself on the grid (so you can afford to place more resource harvesting outposts, etc etc). The trick is that the small 16x16 grid that is the game world changes over time. You need to regularly pay a bundle of resources to the gods or they'll increase the rate at which the world changes (and thus destroys your village/outposts etc, setting you back). It's an interesting idea but there's not much of a game loop going on here. Keep gathering resources and bribing the gods to slow down the way they mess with you gathering resources so you can bribe the gods... right. It's so simplistic it feels more like a mobile/web app, and the low poly/minimalist art style doesn't help. Games don't exist in a vacuum, either. For the same $5 you can pick up SimCity and similar games which have a lot more depth, more intricate game loops and overall much better value for money.
not much to do and not much to look at. But the soundtracks is very pleasant and the concept of a changing landscape is interesting. All things together it feels like I just paid for a very simple ludum dare game.
It's like Islanders, but with all the fun mechanics removed from it. This game isn't horrible (at least it works well), but there's almost no gameplay in it. You just build everything you can everywhere you can, and that's about it. I'd be keen on seeing more games from this developer, but I unfortunately can't recommend this one.
