Find the Oil Racing Edition

It's hard to explain what this game is about, because I don't understand it. There's a sports car in what seems to be an apocalyptic desert landscape with crashed planes and helicopters all around, and you have to drive it and "find oil to save the economy". The controls are atrocious, with the car twisting and turning at every small directional key press that you do. Disclaimer: I never found any oil, and I don't intend to.

Find the Oil: Racing Edition didn’t just ask me to dig for oil — it asked me to dig into the depths of my own soul. When I first booted it up, I expected a casual experience. Maybe some driving. Maybe some walking. I was wrong. What I got was a transcendental journey across dust, metal, and the echoes of industrial ambition. The roar of the engine became the beating of my heart. The search for oil became a search for meaning. Each pump stroke, each spin of the tires, stripped away another layer of my preconceptions about success, capitalism, and what it means to truly find. Before this game, I saw life as a straight road — clear, asphalt, predictable. After Find the Oil: Racing Edition, I see it as an open desert of infinite possibility, waiting to be mapped by willpower and sheer belief in combustion. My relationships have changed. My priorities have changed. I’ve started referring to my coffee as “liquid fuel reserves.” My coworkers think I’ve lost my mind — but no, I’ve simply found the oil. 10/10 — I no longer play games. I live them.

Es el típico juego de autos en terrenos complicados, el juego trata de conducir por un camino ligeramente señalado hasta llegar a un garaje, es ademas bastante corto y poco desafiante y por lo ultimo se vuelve monótono. Los menús en general son detestables, al iniciar el juego, tienes un menú de Windows donde después de aceptar la configuración ahora si se inicia el juego, en el juego en si los menús son peores que menús de juegos flash o android. El juego también afirma tener otras opciones como luces intermitentes, frenos ABS, freno de mano, etc..., sin embargo probando los botones estas mecánicas no se activan. En un tramo de nieve las texturas se bugean y dado que el bug es grande es molesto también. Concluyendo; el juego requiere media hora aproximadamente para completarlo, solo tiene dos autos (Al menos según lo que vi, supuestamente hay un botón para cambiar el auto, pero no funcionaba), es un juego mas casual que desafiante, algunos botones no funcionan, y normalmente todo lo anterior no seria un problema si no fuera por su precio, un juego de esta calidad y duración debería ser gratuito y como máximo valer menos de un dolar, en definitiva su precio no concuerda con lo que ofrece y es lo que lo hace tan malo. Extra: La mecánica de voltear el carro cuando se volqué, esta muy bien hecha, hicieron una mecánica donde se detecta el auto volcado y automáticamente se da la vuelta de una forma muy limpia, y lo mas importante sin bugearse, y la verdad te detecta muy bien cuando estas volcado.

At face value Find the Oil purports to be a "racing" game (with no opponents or time limits) where you must drive down a track to apparently find some oil. Realistically this just a bunch of Unity assets thrown in a blender. I've played a couple of games using this Unity driving engine and it's a pretty bad engine. Real game development requires time, effort, passion and talent, not half an hour ripping off Unity assets. And it shows. Cristian Manolachi/Atomic Fabrik have shown a repeat pattern of unethically dumping other people's work onto Steam as a cheap, nasty cash grab. A driving/walking simulator that feels like you're walking on ice at all times. The car controls are awful and you lose control often to the point it's better to not use the car. The game is just one big map with a single path you follow to get to the end. There's not much to see, the surroundings switch to [spoiler]3[/spoiler] different layouts [spoiler](desert covered with broken airplanes, army grass/swamp land, and hilly pine tree forest.)[/spoiler] and that's it. No check points at all also so if you stop or get stuck you have to start over.

It's more fun to turn it into a walking simulator by going on top of the map. WAY to long, and you have to restart the entire trek if you crash your car. 0/10, worst ice driving game ever.
