It's not free, you have to pay money to unlock the full game. It's just a lame "arcade" shovelware game focusing on repeatedly avoiding obstacles in progressively difficult levels to beat high scores. The game imagery is all AI slop, this is disgusting. The developers abandoned this 5 months ago. It will never be completed. This unfinished game is just polluting Steam and making it harder for gamers to find genuinely, completely made games. As mentioned, this features really godawful, "wrong" looking AI slop instead of genuinely and sincerely created game assets. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating real game assets or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks bad because of that decision. AI slop sticks out like a sore thumb... and it comes across as insulting. There's also the old adage that those who lack the budget and talent to make their own game assets usually lack the budget and talent to do the rest of the job of game development properly, too, and that's glaringly obvious here. On pricing and value for gamers, this isn't really free as you're expected to pay up $1 USD to unlock content/DLC, the game should not be considered completely unlocked until you empty your wallet for the developer. This is misleading and predatory pricing on a product falsely marketed as "free". Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 6 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. While this didn't cost me any money up front, I still feel ripped off.

CAN'T STOP FLYING. Story: Final Rounds has no story to speak of, so we're moving straight to graphics. Graphics: Playing or even looking at Final Rounds even for a bit will very clearly tell you what you need to know about the visual style and that's it's all visual noise. Now visual noise is not bad by itself games like Post Void (although the current game we are speaking about is nowhere near as in your face) strive on their in your face epilepsy esque visual flair, however Final Rounds is just a mess. The visuals are also AI generated slop, so it quite explains it's messy look and just nonsensical design. Audio: The audio design is also just really mediocre with not much to say. The music feels like just the most basic stock free music and fufifls it's background noise job well enough, but apart from that it's not something you'll think about when you close the game, let alone remember it an hour after you're done playing. Gameplay: Final Rounds is an endless runner esque game where you play as a small circle that keeps going upwards to the screen as you dodge obstacles and see how long you can last, with three difficulty levels which only change the speed of how fast the screen progresses. Now I've played quite a long endless runner games or just score attack games, which quite a few I've also played on steam and I can safely say Final Rounds is one weaker ones I've played. It's a simple concept, so simple some game engines literally have the entire game prebuilt for you and all you have to do is change out the assets, so when you mess this badly it should be considered as an acomplishment. The few issues are the level design loop has some downright unfair set ups which guarantee an instant lose if you get an unfair generation and the controls being way too loose which makes you fly all over the place, which makes this a lot more infurianting to play and genuinely not fun. Verdict: Final Rounds is free, but like all the other games in it's genre, you won't get much value out of it. It gets tiresome fast, looks ugly and just isn't much fun to play, considering how many better games that are also free, you're better off looking at something else.
