I wanted to come back to this game after trying it a year or two ago. No chance buddy, the account system is so insanely convoluted and ridiculous, I have no clue what to do. It asks for a registration code I don't have, supposedly that means I used the standalone client before, but when I try registering it for Steam, the Steam option is greyed out. It's just not worth your time man.
Do not get attached to your free trial account because you can't purchase the game to convert it to a paid account later at least I could not. If you want to play this game use there official app instead.
An MMO that encourages new players and doesnt punish mistakes. Letting players have all classes also leads to people picking up different playstyles and attachment to their characters
I didn't realize when I bought this that it was subscription based, there should be something to make that more clear. This is more a review of steam making it seem like a 1 time purchase rather than a review of the game, but I never would have even considered buying this had I known in operated on a subscription basis. You shouldn't have to check the footnotes of the about section to know you're buying a 1 month subscription to a service rather than a product.
Square Enix has to be the most out of touch with customer service iv ever seen this review is not on the game itself because i never got to play it after spending 2hrs trying unlock my square enix ID for login because it was linked to my xbox account I should not need a degree in tech to figure this out and dont even get me started on their "support page" JOKE OF A COMPANY
Game doesnt need two launchers (one from steam then there own special one) and doesnt need to be so complicated to get in all my hours are me failing to even get into the game
Just don't
Incompetent Support. Can't unlink the Steam account under no shape of form. Can't change Square Enix ID.
The community in this game used to be one of the best in the industry. Recently, however, the amount of toxic players seems to be rising. Resubbed, dungeon after dungeon filled with toxic "non-sprouts." Had enough and uninstalled, possibly for the final time.
