I was going to wait to mayhap make a review for FFXIV, to experience the game to the fullest and whatnot, however long that would have taken I mean, people dont lie about this MMO, it's taken over me for the past month, and i've enjoyed every bit of it, from the characters, to the score, to the story, and the raid mechanics everyone talks about, an all around amazing time Yet, i have recently gone throught the vault dungeon, and have to take back all of the above, this game ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sucks
You know blocking download till you pay is not ideal for some one like me that has to wait 30 plus hours for the game to download because my internet is slow and guess what. I lost a day that was paid for. Either make it all one download through steam or allow pre downloading so that once one pays for the game they can just jump in instead of having to waste paid for time. Honestly paid subs for online in the big ol 26 is wild. Its a primitive tactic from a primal age of gaming to sucker people out of money from like 25 years ago. That being said game is fine when I can finally get in and play that is.

This is the type of game that can fulfills many different types of players. You can do most things solo or find a group to play with - grind for hours or take years to reach end game. While the story/combat does get better- it will take a long time to see that payoff with casual play. I spent 3 years getting to Endwalker and I'm not out of things to do yet. The new player HuD settings needs to be fixed- it should not have Tank controls as default movement. Overall the cash shop system is my biggest gripe. Old event items should stay in game- note moved to MogStation. Classic EA monetization :/ ★So If you're on the fence try the Free trial. ★ ★ You can find people to play with on Discord even with social limitations★
