This is... okay, I guess? It's just FF7 with better graphics and VA. I wish Square would make new games.

This game is so good. It has some of the best cinematics in gaming, the soundtrack is brilliant, and the combat is quite decent. I’m not a huge fan of the combat system overall. It’s not quite a great fast-action combat system, but it’s also not really a proper turn-based system. It’s a combination of both, and I feel like the flow of combat gets interrupted when you constantly need to slow down time. However, we’re given the option to bind four abilities to each character, and since we usually play with three characters, that gives us 12 abilities that we can quickly use. That’s good enough for me. The Yuffie DLC was excellent, and the final boss fight was a really good challenge. There’s definitely a lot of hand-holding in this game. There should be an option to turn that off for players who like discovering things for themselves. I don’t need signs, trails, and indicators everywhere, I can discover things myself! Please, Square Enix, we need a native option to turn off the HUD, or at least tone it down. The game is beautiful, and when you remove all those numbers, words, and HUD elements, it looks absolutely spectacular. And ultrawide support too, pls. I really enjoyed my time with this game. The story is soooo good.

This game is a far cry from the OG FFVII game. Without all the unecessary filler, this would only have been 7 hours long. Why even add all this side content that was not in the game? I believe the goal was to stretch out Midgar as long as possible so they could sell it as one game. They could have put the entire trilogy in one game if they only followed the OG story. A big plus in this game is the Japanese urge to zoom in on big knockers as much as possible.
