good story but a little bit slow paced. personally I find that INTERmission is more engaging than the main story
I played Remake twice. Once on a different platform and then once again on Steam just recently. Overall, i really enjoyed Remake. I think they did a fantastic job with the characters and voice actors. If the combat isnt going to be turn based, this is probably the next best thing. I like that they made me care more about certain characters that i felt were forgettable in the OG (Biggs, Wedge, Jessie). I loved all 3 of them in this game. I felt the game did best when it stuck to the main story. The side quests were extremely forgettable (find my cat, find the lost orphans etc). Then again, that is par for the course on most final fantasy titles. One gripe i had with the story was the sector 7 plate crash. I just felt the damage was seriously underwhelming for what happened. There was minimal rubble and you could still revisit the sector. In reality, if an entire city feel from that high, it would be absolute destruction. Both times i played that part stood out to me for that reason. Im overall not a fan of the whispers. I just dont really feel that they were needed. I dont mind them adding new story bits but the whispers just didnt seem necessary. At the same time, i didnt hate it, just felt they werent needed. The game ran flawlessly, not a single crash or hiccup. I did use a mod for ultrawide. Its absurd to me that this game and Rebirth still dont have ultrawide support.
great

The combat is somewhat Devil May Cry want to be, without the crazy that makes it fun. The combat character interaction is subjectively not my cup of tea, the "AI" controlling the oithers doesnt' seem to be very tactical, so it's hit or miss whether you can really issue commands without having to take over for a bit. The progression storyline wise is extremely linear in the bad way (I am at what is obviously the next computer terminal I need to interact with, but I need to walk up to talk to X to state the obvious and then walk back down to use the terminal. Visually it is very pretty though. I got it on a sale, so I will probably finish it, but I am very glad that I did not pay full price.
