A clearly lovingly-made and sneakily addictive game, with endearing graphics and a laid-back atmosphere (that is, until your timer is running low!). Fenced-In takes the charming simplicity of the 2000s-era puzzle games and adds layers of combinations for point-scoring and timer adjustments to give a neat level of complexity for hours of replayability. An easy recommendation for me, especially for the price.
I'm 3 hours into the game so far, it has been addicting to find the hidden animal combinations to get extra points. I adore the pixel art style of this game, it bring back nostalgia of arcade games - a really spot on style :D The little faces of the animals as you move them is my favourite, a glimpse of personality to show the game is a labour of love. A truly lovely game I'll keep coming back to

It made me happy to see something inspired by one of my favorite puzzle games - Zoo Keeper. The sprite work is really charming, and the mechanics are fun and interesting. However, my keyboard is super unresponsive while playing. Half the time I try to press a key in the game, it does not register. It takes several presses to even exit the game, or go through menus. I understand this is supposed to be a reactive based game, and if my presses are too slow, I would love to see the game give feedback on my speed, sort of like rhythm games. My keyboard works properly in other games, so maybe just a glitch? I feel devastated to give this a negative review, but it's sadly more frustrating than fun at this state. I'm going to try to play this on Steam Deck and give it another shot in the future to hopefully change my review. For now, I do not recommend the game on PC.
