Fear Within

It's not bad for a first game but the gameplay is currently way too short. For the current price its alright but short games like that are just unsatisfying. Sometimes the shading seems a bit too dark and some of the story aspects lack depth. Not bad.

The story was simple but very terrifying indeed as we continue through the game. Being honest though, this game doesn't deserve a price tag. I might sound mean, but I've played very similar games on itch.io for FREE! Same graphics, similar scripting, similar story/plot, similar assets which this game may use free assets. For this reason I am going to have to not recommend this game. Was it good and worth my time? Yes, but if I spent a couple of bucks on this game and had a free itch.io horror game experience like I just did, I would be honestly furious. I mean I guess you can refund the game after playing it cause it's so short. But then this games makes approximately zero dollars. Operating at a complete loss. Overall though, solid game but could have done better on itch as a free title with donations enabled. Made a video on it. I know this is your first game and all. And it's fairly impressive for being so. But you will continue receiving backlash for the fact this is a very short horror game with a price tag attached to it. And I'd expect refunds. Again, this should've been on itch.io with donations enabled.

For a first try at a game, it's pretty good! Small warning to content creators and streamers: the game is only about 30 minutes. I would recommend playing this as one of multiple games if you're looking for something to stream for a longer period. It feels more like a demo, which personally I think is fine. No spoiler, but the story isn't one that makes you upset for ending where it does too much. It's exactly what the dev says: short. It's like reading a short story. You want more when you're done, but the length and story aren't upsetting. Review-wise, there are some things that I think could be improved on in the next game. I actually streamed the gameplay tonight and gave my opinion at the end. (My YouTube channel is slymudbug also!) My ramblings start at around the 35-minute mark if you want to skip the game itself. Dev is definitely getting a follow from me, and I would love to play another game (preferably longer if possible, or the same length with a warning that it's also about 30-45 minutes of gameplay)!
