Familia follows four protagonists through a journey to retake their homeland. The game’s style is highly influenced by 90s-style Japanese role-playing games like Final Fantasy 1-6.

I've had a couple of runs through this game now and in whole I've had a lot of fun. There's a couple things that I'd like to see more of in future episodes, and I'm fairly certain that the dev intends to explore those in detail in later episodes, which I'm definitely looking forward. The music is good, the assets are good, the maps are fairly refined, it's a good game and I've had fun with it :)
RPG Maker strikes again! Familia is one of hundreds of low effort retro-pixel RPG Maker asset/construction kit flips spamming the Steam catalog, made with the RPG Maker video game construction kit... in their own words, "Our easy to use tools are simple enough for a child." Like all RPG Maker "games", this is essentially a bunch of low quality assets (notably most of the assets here seem to be custom instead of just copy + pasted RPG Maker stock assets... but they're still very low quality) coupled with a cringeworthy high school anime club fan fiction. As with all RPG Maker games, the poor quality engine displays badly in fullscreen and doesn't have full HD support or any graphics tweaking options, making this unacceptable for any dedicated modern PC gamer. The point can be made that the intention of RPG Maker is to make demos and small games to pass around friends, and shouldn't be used for "professional" game development. Like most RPG Maker shovelware, the game features extremely low quality 2D retro pixel art (original or not), looks awful, and has even worse gameplay. RPG Maker is an absolutely terrible construction kit, and never results in games of any reasonable quality or value to gamers. This RPG Maker asset flip carries all the same defects as all the other RPG Maker asset flips on Steam (did I mention RPG Maker is garbage?), and carries you through a little, awfully written Japanese themed tour... but this just comes across as more fanfiction drivel that should be avoided by all. Despite not being in Steam Early Access (where this arguably belongs), the game is missing features and is apparently incomplete, there's additional chapters for the game that never came out. The game is currently free, but the developers were charging money (a delusional $5 USD for an RPG Maker asset flip) for it. Nothing speaks more to a developers belief in themselves and their product than making their game available for everyone without remuneration, but this is also in some ways an acknowledgement that the game failed to achieve any commercial success (unsurprising due to the quality issues). It's a shame in this case that the implementation is below the minimum standards a dedicated PC game should offer to enthusiasts. The quality here is simply too low for me to recommend, even for free.

Originally a $4.99 game that went Free. It accomplishes being something unique and fun to play. The combat is fairly simple but quick and engaging which made fights fun to start even with the option to avoid enemies. The music didn't need to go that hard... but it was fantastic that it did. I found myself just sitting back at times taking the music in, which I think speaks volumes of its quality. The art direction is all over the place to the point it becomes distracting. Mainly having to do with character portraits being mixes of different styles and qualities and a few other minor inconsistencies. The pixel sprites are fairly good and unique which I really liked. The story, while not bad, felt like it skipped straight to different story beats without much character downtime. In other words, there weren't many character reactions to the events going on and when there are it's moved past rather quickly. It can also be considered a good thing to get back to the gameplay quickly but did make the story feel less fluid. That said it still had enough charm to it to keep me going. -Free Game Amasser
An authentic rpg game which reminds me of rpg games i used to play as a kid. The music is really killer too! Definitely worth a try
You can see how much work has been put into this game, it's really good story telling and effects. Can't wait for act 2!
Gostei muito do jogo e da história. Ansioso pela continuação para poder jogar mais. Parabéns para o desenvolvedor!
Familia, dört kahramanın vatanlarını geri alma yolculuğunu konu alıyor. Oyunun tarzı, Final Fantasy 1-6 gibi 90'lar tarzı Japon rol yapma oyunlarından oldukça etkilenmiştir.
Awesome game. I played offline during a blackout... this game does not require internet connection.
