It's fun right up until you unlock all the rooms and then you... I dunno, do some more quests? Build a few more rooms? Do some of the seasonal ones? Start over? Up to you, I kind of lost interest right after I unlocked all the rooms, but until then it was fun. I can see others really getting into optimizing their vault and leveling up the rest of their dwellers to the max. There is in game currency (Nuka Quantum), you can absolutely beat the game without using it because you get most of the "good" weapons and outfits from questing and it's pretty generous about awarding random Nuka Quantum bottles as you go along if you're impatient.
