Video games, as art, are differentiated in a few key ways from other mediums. Though they have overlap through music and visuals with other forms of art there are a few entirely unique ways in which games set themselves apart as an interactive medium. Some test mastery of timing and patterns in game play like Hollow Knight, some give the players a emergent sandbox to tell their own story like Mount & Blade or Vintage Story, then there's New Vegas and narrative choice. Fallout: New Vegas is, for my money, alone at the peak of the mountain in terms of emphasizing player choice. It is rare that stories, let alone video game stories, are written compellingly. Yet F:NV manages to have sets of choices so compelling that even all these years later people are able to debate in good faith the merits of each faction. I first played F:NV on my PS3 shortly before Honest Hearts released. Despite all of the issues with that port, issues that the game still has (though modding relieves them nowadays) I could never stop thinking about this game after all these years. Though the gun play is dated and the dialogue can be clunky, the total package here is not only worth more than the sum of its parts, it ends up as the closest thing we've gotten to viewing the platonic ideal of a role playing game. Easily a game for people who like RPGs and at least a must try for any gamer.
