Explore the Cenote in Expedia Labs VR. The experience takes you into the caves of similar cenotes that are found in the Yucatan Peninsula. Although a simulation of the true experience, you can learn facts and where you could find real cenotes if you wish to travel in the future.

Unplayable on a rtx 2070, although my cpu is not strong but that doesnt affect other games like it does this. The graphics are ok but its still jittery on the lowest settings.
Unplayably slow on a 1080 unless you reduce supersampling to a minimum. So probably unplayable on anything less than a 1080...
Short little ad-utainment that's fun, educational and might just make you want to book a trip on Expedia, operative word here "might". I will never go to Mexico - too dangerous, but it was nice to get a hint and a rough feel at what the Cenotes are like. They are amazing-at least in VR. Perhaps someday Mexico will be a state where I will feel comfortable einough to go there. It's really not there yet. So, never say never. The User Interface is not very standard but it's not hard to figure out. Excellent price. Can't get much better than free. Well maybe they could throw in a free T-Shirt for watching the edutainment-with an ad.

Bad framerate on vive until you go down the stairs and complete a lap around the cenote. Then it's good.

This worked fine with my Rift/Touch, although I didn't spend all that much time with it (just .3 hours according to Steam). But clearly I missed some areas, like one of the other reviews mentioned, since there are screen shots that I didn't see there either, so will likely check it out at least one more time to see if I can't find what I missed the first time. Saw the sign that said you couldn't teleport into the water but that you COULD jump in, something I never quite figured out how to do, at least not from that spot where the sign was. Maybe you could jump in elsewhere? I actually visited and swam in a Yucatan cenote as an off ship cruise excursion 2 years ago and loved it, so was looking forward to checking this out to kind of revisit one again. Not quite the same, but hey, for free, it's all good. :)
Interesting. Framerate is terrible though. Jittery and lags, even with gtx 1080FTW / core i7-4770.
"Expedia Cenote VR" is not a game. Games contain meaningful gamelike interaction and game loops, which are absent in this software. Instead of being a game, "Expedia Cenote VR" is a software application that presents an educational experience... you get to look at some cave forms (Cenotes) and learn some facts about caves. Or not... this barely works and isn't compatible with most modern VR headsets (it's 7 years old, too, so good luck getting updates). For those unfamiliar with what actually makes something a game, a "game loop" describes the interaction and feedback a gamer has when playing a game. Tetris, for example, has a game loop where a random block appears, the gamer interacts with the block to position it, and then the game decides if that finishes a row or not, increases the players score if any rows were completed, then gives the gamer another block to position. Counter-Strike has a game loop where a player seeks another player, tests their skill against that player by shooting them or being shot, the computer rewards the player if they win, and then if the player survives, they repeat that loop. There's no loop here, no true interactive feedback. It simply is not a game, it cannot be "played". This has misleadingly been launched in the "Games" section of Steam instead of the "Software" section. This is a common mistake for developers who are new to Steam, or don't understand the difference between games and software which isn't a game. It seems this software published incorrectly as a game is simply lack of experience/knowledge of the correct process. Here's a link for the process to publish non-game software on Steam: Steam Developer Help With Software Publishing It's unfortunate this process was not known about/followed, resulting in a software application being published in the wrong place. Publishing things which aren't games on Steam in the Games section as games is misleading to gamers and somewhat harmful, because it pollutes the Steam marketplace and takes away visibility and market exposure for genuine game developers who do the right thing and make games for gamers. There are no gameplay loops in this software, no "gameplay", no meaningful game like interaction. It's a software application and as such has no merits as a video game for gamers. Because of this, I cannot recommend this non-game software as a game to gamers. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 130 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB shows this peaked at only 10 concurrent users... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away.
