For what it is, Evil West is a decent game. It's kind of like a Wild West late 19th century God of War 7 if the lore revolved entirely around vampires instead of Norse mythology. But even so there's a lot less lore or story given it's obviously a much smaller and shorter game. The graphics are good for an old Unreal 4 game, but it does show its age in some of the effects - especially the fire which looks very outdated. Enemies or objects FREQUENTLY have noticeably low framerate animations. Distant enemies or even enemies that aren't actually fightable are often animated at 30 FPS the way distant enemies were in RE2 and RE3 remake and it looks pretty bad. The soundtrack is decent - I wouldn't nominate it for any awards but it's fun. The gameplay isn't anything I would nominate either but I'd say the same thing for God of War 7. Finishing moves for example - executions - have a little bit of variety but it's almost always the same animation depending on enemy type. The dodge system, special powers, "spartan rage" and ranged combat are fun enough but on higher difficulties get boring due to how much health enemies have. Story-wise it's also not amazing and deep but the story does its job and provides a context for the action. The worst thing about this game is the achievements. For the difficulty level achievements, you have to choose the difficulty when you create a save slot. Otherwise it will not work. Even if you start a game on Normal on accident and immediately change it to Evil the second the game loads, it's too late, you'll have to create a new save. I learned this after playing through the game 4 times. You also can't do it by playing the levels individually on chapter select. You have to create a whole new save on the correct difficulty and play through the game on that save. Decent experience, wouldn't mind a sequel.
Tres fun et jouissif
Бодрый боевичок на ~10 часов.
The game is so linear. I'm glad I got on discount but still going for a refund. Pretty though, like most games, pretty ... but dull as ♥♥♥
Pretty fun game. You're a cowboy in the late 1800's beating up vampires. Oh, and there's a plethora if firearms you acquire along the way. Autosave points are located in convenient places, so when you die its never a long, unfun trek back to where you were. Combat feels fair. It's not always easy, there some tough arenas where you fight multiple (recurring) mini-bosses as well as cannon-fodder enemies. The penultimate and ultimate boss battles autosave at different parts of those battles and I really appreciate the devs for doing that. I could exit the game if I got frustrated and I would start back at the same point in the battle. Plays great on Steam Deck. I have the Steam Deck LCD model and with graphics preset on EPIC, it ran between 42-50 FPS. HIGH preset 48-53 FPS, MEDIUM preset essentially around 60 FPS. I left the game on EPIC preset and felt the game ran smooth enough to keep the action flowing at a fun pace while looking the best it can. On desktop, I ran the game on HIGH preset. There were some stutters occasionally, but I chalk that up to Windows 11. My specs are down below if you want to compare your rig I played the game casually and finished it in about 23 hours on normal difficulty. I have no intention of New Game+ mode. (I never play New Game+ mode in any video game) Pacing is for the story is pretty good. There was never too much dialogue. Voice acting is sufficient.
Está de puta madre, recomendado !!!
Buen Juego :D
