Open-world RPG with spells in the form of a deck of cards and hardcore turn-based combat in the form of a button-mashing mini-game. Gameplay: https://youtu.be/AUWluBXbKlg Everspell is reminiscent of the ROBLOX Game "Arcane Lineage". You explore the world around you in real time, trade and communicate with NPCs, complete quests and fight monsters in hardcore turn-based battles. The character has an inventory with items and equipment. You can use weapons and armor. There is a special inventory for spells. Spells are like cards, you build your deck before battle. As soon as the battle begins, the game moves you to an arena divided into a grid layout. You can move your character across the cells of the field and attack the enemy with spells. To cast a spell, you must have time to press a sequence of buttons that the game will show you. [u]You can read other reviews and subscribe to our curators. Everspell is a simple tactical RPG that uses vector graphics. It's very likely from a solo developer, though I can't confirm this for certain. You choose a character class and begin wandering around a semi-open-world engaging in turn based combat. The game incorporates some light platforming elements. Unfortunately, the game suffers from balance issues and various UI choices that make it a chore to play. A general list of these: A. When casting spells and using abilities, you have to play very small mini games which involving tapping keys in a sequence. If you fail these games, your spell will fail. This mechanic is clunky and overtuned. B. Several UI elements are text only, and placed directly over things you do not want to click. This can result in dropping abilities. C. Stat bars and other elements lack texturing and polish. This isn't particularly an over sight, it's just hard to look at sometimes. D. Enemy life bars are fairly chunky. This can result in combats which are a foregone conclusion continuing for many turns longer than they need to. It's quite likely the mechanics of the game need some revisiting. The developer would likely find better results hyper focusing on specific game mechanics and fleshing them out. Currently the card choose mechanic for abilities isn't complex enough or interesting, and the mini-games-for-spells mechanic just gets in the way. It's hard to say who the target audience is here... Some parts of the game suggest a nice entry level tactical game for children, but the punishing nature would put off most adults. Hopefully it's developer Bublik's first attempts at running out a unity engine game, and they can take some of this on board and produce some better games in future. Compiling a functioning game is always an achievement. No specific game breaking bugs encountered.

From the little I've played what's easy to tell, is that the dialogues with NPC's and the cutscenes have been interesting so far. Regarding the combat I've been able to unlock quite a few spells although I've just started the game. The game encourages experimentation as the player can switch around a variety of spells to see how each of them works for thier playstyle, combining them is also another factor that adds even further dept to the game. One final thing I'd like to note is that the music is great, hope the full soundtrack is released at some point. Going to be putting more hours into this game as time goes on and I recommed you pick it up too.
