Dev beg for a review on discord 25 june 2026: "Since leaving Early Access, Eterspire has received a lot more attention on Steam, and with that, our recent review score has dipped to Mixed. .... So, if you’ve been enjoying the game recently and haven’t reviewed it yet, we’d really appreciate an honest Steam review!..." Pro: + OK mmorpg + Easy to run + Simple gameplay + Easy to leveling + Pay for quality of life / cosmetic Con: - Very unbalance class - Bad quality of life for F2P - Barebone indiemmo asking for AA game price (steam sale) for account upgrade - Lack of clear game identity (oldschool vs modernmmo) - Player multibox for party quest farming - Player macro item framing - Market is inflated and dead for non endgame item - In game player count ~1,000 Verdict: For F2P: OK for casual gaming. For most paying customer: Your money is better spent elsewhere.
Extremely chill MMO that's perfect for unwinding If you're after something super complex with a million systems to master, this might not be your game. But if you want a relaxed, low-pressure MMO that still gives you that satisfying grind, Eterspire is fantastic. The base gameplay is super grindy in the best way, you can easily sink hours into it without even noticing. The recent fishing update was a game-changer for me. Not only is it genuinely relaxing but you actually earn combat XP while doing it. It's become my go-to AFK activity when I'm busy with other stuff or just want to multitask. You'll come back to solid progress without feeling like you "wasted" time. Overall, it's a solid 10/10 for a casual, relaxed MMO experience. The community is friendly and helpful too, which makes a big difference. And ignore the people complaining about the upgrade cost - it's a one-time payment for your entire account, forever. You basically get everything other MMOs charge monthly for, but you only pay once. Totally worth it in my book. Highly recommend if you just want to vibe and progress at your own pace!

This game has been out for about 3 years now. They just updated the game to allow guilds... which would be really good.. if there was more to the guild thing.. it took them 3 years to add guilds to the game and you can only use it for chat and making parties. That is it! THEN.. you only get 20 spots for members and if you want more you have to use real money for each new slot.. $1 USD per slot, you also have to have Ultimate to create a guild which costs between $20-$30 USD. It seems to me this game is just out to make money and they do not care about their customers.... Granted it is a free to play and i understand they need to make a profit, but at least make it more appealing for their customers.. add guild events, add stat building for guild members or guild levels that will increase your members abilities and base stats or something to that sort. if you are going to charge us out the dookie hole at least make it worth our time and money
Great game but High end gear is so rare, rarer than any game you played it doesnt feel rewarding. Feels more like a punishment i had to quit
Boring. Also the devs allow AI "art" in their discord.
Cash shop only for movement speed boost. No sprint or speedup whatsoever if playing free. Cosmetics giving functional bonuses is a hard pass from me lmao.
I've been playing Eterspire for quite a while, and I can honestly say I really enjoy it. The gameplay is fun, but what keeps me coming back the most is the community. Players are friendly, helpful, and it genuinely feels like everyone wants to see the game grow. I also have a lot of faith in what this game can become. The foundation is solid, and I can see the developers putting in the effort to improve it over time. Every game has flaws, especially one that's still growing, but that's not what defines its future. To the developers: don't let the negative comments discourage you. Listen to constructive feedback, keep improving the game, and stay true to your vision. You still have plenty of room to make Eterspire into something truly special, and there are many players like me who believe in the game's future. Looking forward to seeing where this journey goes. Keep up the great work!
This game is not in any way a throwback to old school MMOs. It's a kids game in the style of the early mobile co-op games like Pocket Legends. Not worth your time if you are seeking a persistent-world shared space with a community of any kind. If what you were longing for was in fact a new Pocket Legends, it's still not worth playing: - tiny maps - zero atmosphere - annoying Animal Crossing voices with no slider - childish cutesy music - kawaii monsters - no jumping - no swimming - no exploring without a quest - no climbing stairs - the tavern is just an upsell screen - almost all costumes are piecemeal from loot crates If you want old school MMO, almost all of them are still running. Just come and play them.
Eterspire
Everyone kept saying it would scratch that old-school MMO itch. It did... for about a day. Pros:

Cozy art style with a nostalgic charm that reminds you of classic MMORPGs
Simple progression makes it easy to jump in without feeling overwhelmed
Cross-play between PC and mobile is a nice feature if you have friends on different platforms
ITS FREE!
Cons:

Combat gets repetitive way too quickly—you're mostly fighting reskinned enemies with very little depth
Questing is extremely basic and linear, offering little reason to explore beyond following the next marker
Inventory management becomes a chore thanks to limited space and poor quality-of-life features
Character builds and classes feel too simplistic, making progression less exciting than other MMOs
Feels more like a mobile MMO that happens to be on PC rather than a PC MMO built from the ground up
Summary: Aetera is charming, I'll give it that. But once the honeymoon phase wears off, you're left doing the same quests, fighting the same monsters with slightly different colors, and wondering where the depth went. Maybe it'll grow into something much bigger over time. For now, though, I'd rather log back into one of the classics than keep grinding through Aetera.
