I overall do not recommend this game - the pointedness of the political messaging turns what could've been a great game into another banal piece of media that rehashes the same superficial political and cultural questions we've been debating for the past decade. Perhaps there is potential for a game to pull off approaching these questions in an engaging and novel way. But the essence of the game tilts nakedly into one side of those questions that leaves the game feeling stale and predictable.
This is easily my game of the year, at only six hours in I am completely sold. Do yourself a favor, buy this now and enjoy what is quite possibly one of the best narrative RPG's of 2026.
Не могу не спросить, а за что вы голосуете на выборах?
Приятное путешествие которое я буду помнить очень долго. Спасибо разработчикам за этот прекрасный проект.
Pretty crazy what this game did for me. I started playing *Esoteric Ebb* while I was going through a pretty tough patch in life. A lot of it had to do with friendships, business, and honestly just being tired of dealing with the same ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I’d spent so much time trying to lead people through. At some point, I realized maybe it wasn’t my job to keep fixing everyone else’s problems. They have their own lives to figure out. I had my own life to fix. And weirdly enough, while I was sitting there thinking about my own life, what I needed to change, and what I wanted to do better, something happened. My partner in life came through and helped me with a huge problem I’d been dealing with. I didn’t know whether to see it as a sign or just perfect timing. Then I kept playing, getting deeper into Urth, the messages, and everything surrounding Lord Grom. The things the game was saying started hitting differently because of where my head was at in real life. Maybe there was a reason I found this game when I did. Maybe, like Urth says, I’m here for a bigger purpose. Maybe all the hardships, the people I’ve had to deal with, the things I’ve lost, and the times I wanted to give up were never meant to break me. Maybe they were molding me into the kind of leader I’m supposed to become... someone who doesn’t give up on people, even when it would be easier to walk away. Someone who can help show people a path, even when that path is painful. And honestly, I think I’m blessed because of it. I know it’s just a game, but the timing was almost too perfect. *Esoteric Ebb* didn’t give me answers, but it made me stop, reflect, and see certain things in my own life a little clearer. Sometimes you don’t find a game. Sometimes a game finds you at exactly the moment you need it.
Medieval Disco elysium meets dNd. What else you want bro lol
It's not just a Disco-like game—it's practically Disco Elysium with a different coat of paint. The mechanics are almost identical, along with features like talking items, extensive lore, internal monologues, and more. Even so, I really enjoyed my time with Esoteric Ebb. It's a fairytale that balances comedy and tragedy, all seen through the eyes of a charismatic protagonist. For Azgalist!
玩智力角色哲學辯論燒腦,要買的話請多考慮這點 藥水喝了會疊加很酷 缺點是對話中沒配音沒音樂很安靜,太安靜了,玩遊戲沒聲音很不習慣
I was drawn by the art style and the D&D theme. While I've played Disco Elysium and I've liked it OK... I didn't expect this game to be so heavily influenced by it. The visual dialogue structure is pretty much a copy of it, which maybe is on me for expecting something unique just inspired by it. It also drags a lot. There is so much pointless dialogue. While it was kind of fun in the start, it started to get annoying pretty fast, because you are stuck in an internal monologue that neither moves the plot nor gives you information. I expected to be able to make choices but, for the time I played, there wasn't much I had any choice in. Perhaps I'll try going back to it after some time when I forget my initial disappointment from what I assumed would be a funny D&D campaign, choose your own adventure type of story/game.
