The short amount of time I played this game, I was having a bunch of fun with a couple friends. Came back a few years later to play again but the servers are shut down. I will say it was always fun to watch others play this game on YouTube If the servers ever get made again, I know this game would shine

Enemy On Board, developed and published by Windwalk Games, is a multiplayer social deduction game that mixes deception-driven gameplay with real-time combat aboard a collapsing spaceship. At its core, the game combines the paranoia and suspicion of classic hidden-role party games with fast-paced action mechanics, creating a tense environment where players must constantly question the intentions of those around them. Instead of simply discussing suspicions and voting players out as many social deduction games do, Enemy On Board adds a more aggressive twist: accusations often lead to immediate fights. This approach transforms the typical deduction formula into something more chaotic and unpredictable, where quick decisions, teamwork, and psychological manipulation are equally important for survival. Each match places eight players on a spaceship that is slowly breaking down. Among them are six human crew members and two alien shapeshifters disguised as humans. Only the alien players know each other’s identity at the start of the match, while the rest of the crew must work together to maintain the ship’s systems and determine who among them cannot be trusted. The aliens’ objective is to sabotage the crew and eliminate everyone before the ship can escape, while the crew must identify and eliminate the impostors in time to survive. Because the alien players blend seamlessly into the group at the beginning of the round, every interaction carries the possibility of betrayal. The gameplay unfolds in a series of phases as the ship gradually loses functionality. Early in the match, players move through the vessel’s corridors collecting items, repairing generators, and searching for weapons that can be used later in confrontations. These early moments are filled with cautious cooperation as players attempt to appear trustworthy while quietly observing the behavior of others. Suspicion quickly grows when players notice unusual movement patterns, sudden disappearances, or unexplained damage to teammates. As tension builds, conversations become more confrontational, and players must decide whether to trust their instincts or wait for stronger evidence before taking action. What makes Enemy On Board particularly unique among social deduction games is its reliance on real-time combat to resolve accusations. Instead of voting suspected players off the ship, the crew must physically confront and defeat them using weapons scattered throughout the environment. This mechanic introduces an additional layer of risk, as attacking the wrong person can remove an innocent crew member and weaken the team’s chances of survival. At the same time, alien players can manipulate these confrontations to their advantage by encouraging suspicion among the crew or striking when teammates are isolated. The result is a constantly shifting power dynamic where alliances form and collapse within minutes. As matches progress, the intensity increases dramatically. Midway through each round, stronger weapons become available in the ship’s armory, allowing players to engage in more direct and lethal combat. Eventually the game reaches its final phase, where the alien infiltrators reveal their true monstrous forms and gain powerful abilities. At this stage the remaining crew members can access heavy combat suits that dramatically increase their strength, leading to chaotic final showdowns where both sides fight desperately for survival. These climactic moments often determine the outcome of the entire match and deliver some of the game’s most memorable scenarios. Communication plays a major role in the experience, as the game encourages players to speak with one another through built-in voice chat. Crew members share suspicions, coordinate repairs, and warn others about potential threats while trying to interpret the intentions behind every statement. Meanwhile, alien players communicate secretly through their own private channel, allowing them to coordinate attacks without revealing their identity to the rest of the group. This dual communication system deepens the psychological aspect of the gameplay, making deception and persuasion just as important as mechanical skill. Visually, Enemy On Board adopts a stylized top-down perspective that keeps the action clear and readable even during chaotic encounters. The spaceship environment is designed as a network of corridors, rooms, and control stations that create natural chokepoints for ambushes or defensive stands. Characters have distinctive designs that make them easy to identify during frantic moments, while the alien transformations introduce a dramatic visual contrast when impostors reveal themselves. The overall presentation focuses more on clarity and gameplay readability than visual spectacle, ensuring that players can quickly understand what is happening during tense situations. Despite its creative approach, the game does have a few drawbacks. Because it relies heavily on multiplayer interaction, the quality of matches depends greatly on the presence of an active community or a group of friends to play with. While AI bots can fill empty slots, they cannot replicate the unpredictable behavior and psychological mind games that human players bring to the experience. Additionally, the learning curve may feel steep for new players, as understanding both the mechanical systems and the social dynamics of deception takes some practice. Nevertheless, when played with a full group of engaged players, Enemy On Board can produce some genuinely thrilling and humorous moments. The combination of suspicion, sudden betrayals, and frantic combat often leads to unpredictable outcomes where a single mistake or clever lie can determine the fate of the entire crew. Each round becomes a small narrative of trust and deception, shaped by the personalities and decisions of the players involved. Overall, Enemy On Board is an inventive take on the social deduction genre that stands out by integrating direct combat and fast-paced action into its design. Its blend of psychological strategy, cooperative objectives, and chaotic confrontations creates a unique multiplayer experience that rewards both clever deception and teamwork. While its reliance on a strong player base can limit accessibility for solo players, those who enjoy games built around bluffing, suspicion, and unexpected twists will likely find it an entertaining and memorable sci-fi party game.
